Liz Lisa Ankle Boots

In mid February, I finally ordered these boots from Berri (storenvy) after lots of discussion about them lol. Since they were coming from Australia, it took a bit to get here, but I was super excited to receive them last week Thursday (2/27)!
The box looked as if someone had stabbed it, but the contents were perfectly fine, especially considering that Berri had kindly included the shoes in their original shoe box and had placed the box in a Liz Lisa shopping bag which provided extra protection.

[Sorry for the poor quality photos in this post but I won't be able to take better quality ones for awhile and wanted to make this post sooner rather than later. I had a fair amount of free time this past weekend but there was only enough sun to shoot the Tony Moly product pictures and it had gone away by the time I wanted to shoot the boots. And the next day it was rainy and gray *all day*. You'll for sure see me wearing these boots with different outfits in (better quality) future posts though!]

This was another one of those cases where I saw these boots for sale at VENT and didn't buy them, but the more I saw them on other people/shop staff, the more I wanted them and by that time it was too late lol. (I think these boots are currently listed in the Outlet Shop but last I checked they were sold out.) These are from...2 years ago I think? Last season's version of this boot has a wedge heel, but I prefer this chunkier one. Berri said, and I agreed, that it kind of looks like a Liz Lisa version of the Jeffrey Campbell Lita. It also came in a dark brown, but I was happy to get this in the beige color because of what I plan to wear them with, and lucky me, Berri was willing to sell hers - brand new with tags in box. (There are creases in the boots but that's because I was so eager to wear them that I wore them out the very next day I received them and didn't wait to take pictures. So this is what they look like after one use lol)

I had heard that these boots were super comfy despite the height and that's absolutely true! One of the shoes rubs a little on one of my big toes but it just requires a little breaking in and won't bother me after a few uses. I can definitely see myself traveling with these and they're great for most kinds of weather. My other rain-weather-suitable ankle boots don't have heels and the other knee-high/OTK boots are less than ideal to wear in 80 degree weather, so I anticipate being able to create a variety of different outfits at any time of year.

Here are a few coordinates that I quickly threw together. (Again, sorry about the quality and the lighting. Had to use artificial light since there wasn't any sun.)

with Material Girl dot dress

 with Forever 21 floral dress

with Liz Lisa check romper

with Liz Lisa replica (taobao) floral OP

with Forever 21 sleeveless top and Liz Lisa floral sukapan and purse

 with Forever 21 floral dress

Idk why, but I feel like my legs/body looks short in these boots in these photos. But they definitely don't look short in real life though because the heel adds a lot of height...

Anyway, I look forward to making better/real coordinates with these boots in the future! I think they'll be my go-to boot for rainy Hawaii weather which tends to only last a short while and sometimes the temperature is still in the high 70s.

Please check out MissBaci's Secondhand Shop. She no longer has these boots (since I bought them) but she does have other Liz Lisa + other brand items!
You might also be interested in Apfel-Birne's storenvy and Mint Kismet's Closet and MK Commodities.
All run by friends I trust to sell authentic items (unless replica is specified).

Oh, and my storenvy [Emiiichan Shop], of course! I have a number of Liz Lisa/VENT items that need to go to good homes because they aren't well suited to me. Many of the items are only tried on/new with tags, and I'm willing to negotiate for most.

  1. yay! The boots look great on you!! ^.^ Ah sorry again about the hole in the box... I know it's not my fault but :/ at least the shoes are okay! They look nice with your outfits and I notice the brown ones potentially cut me off too but... they don't? It's quite odd. I think that we THINK they would make us look short ... but they don't actually so it's more a mental thing? Idk. Idk.

    1. Lol well logically, it would make the leg look shorter because of the length of the boot but the heel should even it out? Or does it matter what you wear with it? Haha.

  2. So Cute~!! ahh I wanted those shoes when I first saw it at Anime Expo 2013, but unfortunately they only had L. When I looked online the S was ALWAYS sold out =[. But anyhow, they look great on you!!! ^^

  4. Gorgeous boots! I wish I could wear boots here in my country, but the climate is hot all year round so it makes it pretty impossible to wear them. Not to mention people here would be giving me funny stares. Anyway, it looks very nice on you. Beige goes with most outfits so great choice there. ;) I don't think you look short in them, it's only probably due to the height of the boot calves which cover more of your legs than other shoes. I think it's the same principle as wearing skirts that go below the knees, making the person look shorter.

I like checking out Storenvy to look for Liz isa stuff (I own a store there too) but seems like a lot of people are selling replicas but they don't even bother specifying them as such.

    1. Yeah it's actually unreasonable to wear boots most of the time but I wear them anyway. (I do get weird stares haha.)
I actually hate *searching* Storenvy and eBay for that reason, so I only look at specific shops and why I specifically recommended the ones in my post. Like me, they're real people who are selling items from their closet that they intended to use themselves but haven't for whatever reason (sizing, material different than expected, etc) but that might be cool for someone else.
We're not running "businesses" that buy Liz Lisa/other items to specifically profit but rather just trying to see if anyone wants something that would otherwise rot in our closets at a reasonable price.

    2. Same here. The stuff I have on my store are basically things that I don't see myself wearing or no longer wear and tbh, most of the time I don't make a profit at all.
I have no problem with people selling LL stuff with the intention to give other people better chance at getting LL items and as long as they're selling genuine stuff, and not passing off replicas as the real deal and jacking up the prices like 2-3x more than the original.

I don't know if you've heard about a scammer on Storenvy selling LL items recently. The seller did not have any photos of her LL products of her own and so she only put up the stock photos from the LL webstore. She did specify that her items are replicas but she never answered questions relating to the products. Long story short, after scamming a few people, she closed down her store, and she was reported to Storenvy. Few days later she opened up a new store, and luckily before she managed to scam anyone she was again reported to Storenvy. Storenvy thankfully responded positively and shut down the store.

    3. I think sometimes the problem is that the people who run these "stores" don't know the difference between real and replica. Not to say that I do, but I'm also not trying to profit on it and have people give me money for something that's not necessarily what I'm saying it is. [Although some taobao resellers really are trying to "trick" others.]
I automatically don't want to patronize any store that uses stock photos from VENT/rakuten (or really any photo that they did not personally take themselves) as the only pictures or the primary pictures. *ESPECIALLY* the ones that place their own watermark on these stock photos! What in the freaking world. I don't care if your "shop" is selling the same product. That doesn't give you the right to stick your watermark on someone else's photo. If you're a legitimate business, do it right.
I didn't hear about that person, but that's why I don't trust storevny shops (for LL or brand) unless it's to buy from my friends lol. Sadly, I've been the victim of a scam before (for circle lenses though) and know that it really sucks. I never received product or a refund and it sucked shit.
I'm tired of these fake Liz Lisa stores, but I know that I won't change people's minds or make a difference so I resolved just to try and "promote" the ones that I know I can trust to get that info out there...

    4. The gyarus on facebook were talking about her store and also some on the Gyaru Sales LJ.
A lot of them, including myself, sent her messages and Emails to ask for more pictures of the clothes she was selling but she ignored everything. Stephanie, the girl who runs the kawaii gyaru shop, reported her then.

    5. Glad scammers are reported. I hate that!

  5. So it was you! haha I was watching these boots for a few weeks and then when I decided to get them, the owner of the store told me they were sold the day before. I wanted them so bad in beige but got them in brown from the Apfel-Birne store then. Funny that I'm following your blog and it was you.

    1. Haha sorrrrrry!! I emailed her about them back in like early January, but since I bought the LLxMM fukubukuro and ended up paying a good amount in customs fees, I decided to wait until later in Feb to order. The timing!
I'm glad that you ordered from Maureen though! I love her as well <3 Yay us all being the same shoe size haha.

    2. I was actually checking for the beige ones while being in the train and started panicking when they were gone haha Bought the brown ones while still on the train because I just wanted them so bad. =w=; I got mine yesterday and they are just lovely *^*
They feel a little tight at the front now but I guess that gets better?

    3. Mine are a generally good fit (I'm somehow a steadfast size L) but my big toe rubs a little which means they just need a little breaking in I think. I typically like a *slightly* tight fit better than really loose.
I just bought some shoes online and I think I'm going to sell them because there's just too much room and it's a pump so it really needs to fit solidly.

    4. I have the same problem with my big toe on one side and my mom is saying that they will loosen up a little.
I feel like it's always kinda hard with pumps because they can be too tight or too loose and if it's only a little, it's not a problem with boots but pumps are different.

    5. Haha yeah it definitely just needs a little breaking in.
