Tokyo Kawaii Life order 49 - Liz Lisa argyle marshamallow knits, chandelier print jumper skirt & back ribbon pearl pumps

The entire purpose of this order was the argyle knits ❤❤. When I saw the promo images of them before the release, I was so excited that Liz Lisa was going to be doing a small argyle series again! I really love pastel argyle prints and Liz Lisa has great options when they are included in the designs. But ofc since I was doing the order anyway, I had to throw in a few other items I had been eyeing as well!

Argyle marshmallow knit in white (162-3043-0)
アーガイルマシュマロニット
I had already anticipated what the material would be like based on similar looking knits from Liz Lisa in the past. It's such a nice, soft, warm material that is super comfortable - pretty much like you'd expect for roomwear! Because of this, the sweater doesn't have a lot of structure and tends to have a bit more of a boxy or slightly baggy effect rather than being fitted. There isn't much that's complicated with the actual design but the argyle print is presented nicely and there are five 3-dimensional bows.

I really enjoy being able to match multiple colors with the options in the argyle print and having that flexibility. This knit is a bit shapeless overall with a longer length that I'm used to for himekaji when not tucking tops in, but I didn't find it too challenging to work with. I feel like maybe there's not a lot visual variety with the coordinates I'm creating because I really wouldn't add another layer over this as it's warm enough as is and does have a bit of bulk (also why I didn't try to tuck it into any skirts), but you can definitely layer an blouse with an interesting collar underneath!

I didn't want to let this argyle opportunity pass me by too quickly, so I grabbed my second choice color as well which was pink. This wasn't as much of a struggle to get in my cart, and I would have been happy to settle for just this one, but I'm glad to have both lol.

Ofc whatever matches with the white knit likely also matches reasonably well with the pink, but I also wanted to try and show a few more casual examples of how I might wear these with the shorts/sneakers and the denim skirt. These knits are definitely great for basic looks as well as girlier/cutesier looks.

Flower chandelier print jumper skirt in pink (162-6041-0)
フラワーシャンデリア柄ジャンスカ
This jumperskirt was part of a set up with a long sleeve top but I knew I probably wouldn't buy both unless they made it to a really great sale, but I was definitely determined to at least get the jumperskirt. I could tell that it can easily be a great piece on its own as well as paired with another piece underneath and I really liked the chandelier print. I thought the "faux top" in the V of the neckline is a nice touch and is truly what makes this a wearable piece on its own - great for transition between colder to warmer weather.

This jumperskirt has great volume on its own. I was going to try it on with my petticoat when I looked in the mirror and realized that it really didn't need it. There's a great subtle amount of poof which is great for casual wear without being too flat. The fit on the bodice is fantastic with the shirring in the back and also the ribbon tie helping as well. I also think the length is just right. This is easily the item I'm most happy with in the order.

Back ribbon pearl pumps in white (162-9612-0)
後ろリボンパンプス
I really fell in love with these when I first saw shop staff photos with them. I love how elegant they look without being too over-the-top. I convinced myself to hold out on these because I already have 3 somewhat similar pairs of shoes from spring (i.e. the 3D flower pumps in all three colors) but since I was already making an order, I decided to just throw these in as well and I'm really glad I did.

These shoes will easily match with a number of items from my wardrobe while adding an elegant touch. I noticed that these shoes are a little bit bigger than what I'm used to and also the strap needed an extra hole (smaller), but that was easily fixed. And once the strap was a bit more secure, I didn't have much trouble keeping my foot in place. I do think the ribbon is a little cumbersome when walking bc they have the potential to hit each other but that's probably bc I walk with my feet hitting each other all the time anyway. This is just a small thing I noticed but isn't something that keeps me from enjoying the shoe as a whole.

Overall, this was a very successful order! I've already worn 3/4 of these items and I have a plan for the remaining one soon. I'm really glad I was able to get my hands on these and try them because they're actually better in person than I anticipated. This was my last order for Liz Lisa AW16! I can't wait for what spring seems to be promising :)
