October 2019 - Popflex Active sale, haircut and fixing irrigation

How crazy is it that it's October already! I can't believe most of the year is gone and yet the things I did in January seem so distant.

Purchases
I started following Cassey Ho (also known as Blogilates) very distantly since I started college. I really stopped attempting to do any routines for many years, but started to pick it up again casually this summer when it was a little too hot to go running outside. I noticed she was having a virtual warehouse sale for her Popflex Active line and my mother and I made an order together! These were the things I got:

Courage cami - Black (size 4)
I actually work out mostly outdoors so most of my tops are high neck with long sleeves for a little extra sun protection. However, I do occasionally do indoor workouts or workouts when it's not sunny out, so I thought this might be a good option! The inner bra is connected to the cami/tank piece which does make putting it on and taking it off a little tricky but it creates a nice look when you finally get it on. I sized up for this because I anticipated issues with pulling it over my shoulders and I'm glad I did. While size 2 would have fit my body fine, I think I'm just more comfortable in a size 4.

Enchanted Shrug - Night (size 4)
Like I mentioned, sometimes I like to cover my arms, especially when doing exercise outdoors, so I thought this shrug might be a good option for adding to my tanks when I'm hiking for a slightly more stylish look compared to my regular long sleeve tops. It is made of a thin, sweat wicking material so I actually dont think it will be good for sun protection at all, but mostly for modesty. I still like the piece aesthetically but probably won't use this how I had initially intended. I again sized up because I didn't want it to be skin tight and am happy with the decision.

Hold me zip bra - Blush (size 2)
I've always wanted to try one of these front zip sports bras, so this sale seemed like a good opportunity. I really like the blush color as well. The zipper seems strong and I do think I'd be able to run, etc like I would in a regular sports bra. I know that might not mean much coming from someone with my chest size though. I do have some small concerns with the chunkiness of the bottom part of the zipper, but we'll see how that turns out. I usually don't run for more than 5 miles, so I'm thinking it'll be fine. I ordered true to size for this one and I like the fit!

I have a few other purchases that didn't end up coming in the mail this month, so look forward to seeing more next month!

Miscellaneous life updates
I got a haircut! I'm pretty lazy and kinda cheap so I usually only get my hair cut about once a year. It was really really time for a chop since my ends were looking and feeling terrible. I asked my stylist to just cut off the dead parts and ended up with this lol.
The pictures I posted for my story aren't the best because he used some ion curler on my hair before I left, but you can definitely tell the difference in the work outfit photos!

During the Discovers Day holiday, I decided to go to the mall and just walk around and take my time. I tried on some stuff in Kate Spade and took pictures lol.
Didn't end up buying anything though but the sales were good! (First outfit is what I wore into the store. Second and third photo are both featuring Kate Spade clothing items.)

My bf noticed a spot in our yard that never dried. Based on that + an increased water bill, we figured out there was probably some sort of leak in the irrigation piping. Luckily it was something DIY fixable for us + my dad. We spent one afternoon finding the leak spot, my dad contributed one afternoon of refining the work we did the previous day (with tools we didn't have), and then one afternoon of my dad and bf doing the repair. Apparently it was a large root from the tree in the street planter strip. It grew and formed to the shape of the pipe!

Obviously the last day of October is Halloween! I actually don't have any additional photos besides my last work outfit photo. When Halloween falls on a weekday here, there's just tons and tons and tons of traffic, in particular to get onto the freeway. Usually the freeway itself is not particularly bad compared to any other day but the onramps are just ridiculously congested. We didn't have any real plans and ended up just going to Sam's Club to pick up a bunch of candy that afternoon and gave it out to the handful of trick or treaters who came by!

I had a lot going on in the background this month but not too much to report here. I know I've been saying that for a few months now, but I think...that's just how my life is. I'm doing okay and I'm not complaining. Looking forward to the upcoming holiday season and a few upcoming events in November and December!
