Liz Lisa bouquet ribbon print set up [TOM purchase]

I went through a bit of a shopping lull after I vowed not to pay full price for anymore AW16 items, but when I saw the opportunity to get this set up in pink from TOM, I knew it made sense to make the purchase. I also opted for free gift wrapping for this order (a special promotion for November) just to see what it looked like! The top and sukapan were both packaged in the regular clear plastic and they were placed nicely into an opaque, dark navy TOM gift bag.

I really liked this print when I saw the first images of it, but none of the items (OP or set up pieces) were on my "must purchase" list because of the long sleeves. That being said, I kept half an eye on the set up top because the sleeves seemed sheer and relatively lightweight. I've been trying to convince myself that wearing main piece long sleeve items won't actually kill me, so I'm slowly trying to build my wardrobe in that department.

I really like the silhouette and the overall look that can be achieved with both of the pieces together. It's so sweet and I love how just the hem of the sukapan peeks out with the asymmetrical design of the top. These pieces are definitely meant to be worn together but can certainly also stand on their own! (See below)

I knew from the beginning that this top would be lovely and easy to match with any basic bottom. The cut of the bottom half of the top is really cute and the slight ruffle is really cute. The bow is (re)movable, but I surprisingly actually like it pinned at the original suggested spot in the middle of the neckline.

The fit of the top is great. It's a little roomy on the top/in the bust area but I'm used to that by now. The length works really well even when not pairing it with the matching sukapan. The color is not the exact same dusty pink from AW14 and not quite as bright a pink as AW15, so it's settling somewhere in the middle, but closer to a dusty pink.

This is an average sukapan in many ways (elastic waistband, no zipper entry) but the main difference from most is that the print stops and the bottom third of it is a different texture with pleats. I was worried that it would look really weird on its own without the matching top, but I don't think that's necessarily the case.

The length is just right for pairing with the matching top ofc, but because of the overall fit, I do think it can stand on its own if you want it to. I didn't have too much of a problem coming up with the three above outfits which can take you from spring to fall and involve both an untucked and tucked in top. I wouldn't consider this the most versatile sukapan that ever came with a set up, but it's certainly not a lost cause stand alone item either.

Why did I purchase from TOM versus TKL?

Note: Intl shipping via SAL for TKL package was calculated based on an estimated 750g package weight with service fees with Tenso.
Since I didn't want to make a full retail price purchase during this time period, I had to consider cost carefully with this order. As you can see, I easily saved about $17 by going with TOM because I had a 10% off coupon.

Considering purchasing from TOM yourself?
