Tokyo Kawaii Life order 48 - Liz Lisa English Rose frill OPs, velour puff OP and heart organza pumps

This was actually technically a Black Friday order even though there wasn't an official sale with that name since Japan doesn't exactly follow the same sale conventions as we have in the US since there's no "day after Thanksgiving". But as you can tell, I wasn't able to get around to posting about this until now (yes I do have quite a backlog due to end-of-year prioritizing wtf)!

English Rose frill OP in white (162-6006-1)
I had kind of been lusting after this from the beginning (there were way too many things I wanted from Autumn 2016) and even though it sold out a few times, I was luckily still able to grab it! The color and the print were always most appealing about this to me but the main thing that held me back aside from the full price was the long sleeve design. However, the sleeves are reasonably thin and even have some sheerness so I allowed myself to just go for it and hope for the best.

This dress is great IRL and thankfully the dress isn't very heavy overall. I'll definitely be able to wear it in most AC settings without a lot of issue. The color is exactly what I was expecting and it pairs well with most of my other bordeaux items from Autumn 2016. I only wish I could have had it sooner to wear on my East Coast trip!

English Rose frill OP in pink (162-6006-1)
So....since pink was still in stock I decided to get pink too lol. I really love the color/print of my pink English Rose suspender skirt and I knew it would translate well to the OP as well.

Ofc I love it lol. It's similar in every way to the white version except the color obviously and I was already familiar with how the print would look based on the suspender skirt. It's a great fit for me and also will fit well into my wardrobe too! I hope I'll get a chance to wear this in a reasonable situation soon. Based on how Liz Lisa's customer base usually attacks a nice pink colorway, I'm surprised this didn't sell better!

Velour puff OP in pink (162-6016-0)
I wasn't going to purchase this but it was on my watchlist for a while. Since I was doing an order and I noticed that pink restocked and there were only a few left, I let this IG post from Valerie (@yue0227) convince me to actually buy it!...which was a great decision. I actually specifically told myself not to buy this despite really liking the design bc I knew the velvet material would be hard to launder and would be heavy in Hawaii weather. Plus, it looked kind of baggy on LL Siennes Miki so I was nervous about the fit since there's no ribbon tie and not a lot of elastic in the back.'s true that it's a bit heavy bc that really contributed to the shipping weight of this package wtf, but the fit is really fantastic!

I like that this dress should work for multiple occasions and throughout the year. Although the material has a bit of weight, it doesn't feel very heavy when worn and the fabric adds a little interest to the piece. I'm much happier with the fit than I ever anticipated and would definitely recommend this dress. My only concern with it is making sure that I remember to launder it properly, but I'll jump that hurdle when I need to.

Heart organza pumps in pink (162-9619-0)
I loved the design of these pumps since their release but I had convinced myself that I really didn't need them. Both original colors (pink and bordeaux) appealed to me but I knew I should wait until I really had a reason to order them. Thankfully they restocked (with red instead of bordeaux as the second option) and I was able to grab a pair in pink which is what I really needed since my pair from 2013 is falling apart a bit after having been a major travel shoe for me in the past.

The color isn't 100% what I expected but then again, didn't surprise me either. I am happy with them and do plan to use them often. I really like the girly pink heart on the front with the small frill detail and I've certainly come to love the lace up back detail that is featured on many Liz Lisa pumps. The sizing is just about right and isn't much different from any other Liz Lisa shoe that I can tell.

I was able to check off a few of my final autumn wishlist items with this order while also finding a dress I ended up loving, so overall I'm really happy with everything! If it had made sense to order any of these pieces sooner, I wish I would have but I'm glad to have them now. This has been a very productive AW season for my Liz Lisa wardrobe which was so summer heavy in the past!

  1. Omg. I love everything. The 2 Ops are fantastic and the shoes are so nice. ^^

  2. The velvet texture on those "lace up" pumps is so nice! I don't have any occasion to wear them, but if they ever came in black I would probably do a double take! :o

    1. They would definitely be really interesting in black!

  3. Everything's super cute! I especially like the English Rose OP in white~

Question: What do you do with all the shopping bags Liz Lisa (and other Japanese online clothing shops, for that matter) always seem to dump in the package with your order? I have like at least 10 already in various sizes and they're very nice and all, but I really don't think I need that many. I can't bring myself to throw them out though. >_<

    1. It seems like Tokyo Kawaii Life has stopped giving the linen shopper with purchases for some reason but when I used to get them, I would just keep them all together. See the pictures at the bottom here -
Hawaii has a plastic bag ban so when they're useful for that. Or just carrying things in general.

    2. I see, thanks for the link~!
Los Angeles also has a plastic bag ban, but I always feel like I wouldn't wanna get the nice bags dirty if I use them for groceries (sometimes things like milk or meat packages leak or are kinda wet, etc). I'll just hold onto them then, though they are starting to take up quite a bit of space in my tiny apartment. omo;; I could sure use a nice big closet/wardrobe someday.

    3. I mostly use it for extra clothes and things like that. But I'm sure I have over 30 shoppers (I've never counted but I'm assuming) so I don't need 30 in good condition lol. Maybe just one or two. And my clothes take up a lot of space in my room. I don't have a lot of free space for anything else tbh.

  4. I was wondering where you get your white socks to go with your Liz Lisa shoes?

    1. I get them from stores like Tutuanna or Doll Kiss when I'm in Japan.
