Tokyo Kawaii Life order 23 - Liz Lisa Piano blouse & skirt, Yui Kanno collab stripe flower OP & Web-limited peplum cotton blouse

A few more summer items I ordered! I saw a few of these things were selling out so I felt the pressure to purchase them wtf. Actually unintentional blue and white theme!

This was a sale impulse buy. Well, not hugely impulse, because I had told myself that if any of these items made it to a sale, I would probably go for them (especially because I thought it was cute in every color), but it wasn't something that was necessarily on my wishlist because I wouldn't have been extremely sad if they sold out. It's not that I don't like the items (because actually I think they're extremely cute), but it's more that I'm not much of a music person. I think I've said this before in early Autumn 2014 which featured a lot of music notes/motif items, but yeah music is not really my thing, and I feel really poser-y buying/wearing music items but this is too darn cute. I had a short struggle choosing between the jumper skirt and the suspender skirt but in the end, I went with the skirt mostly because it was cheaper lol. I did really like that the jumper skirt had a ribbon tie though! I might end up giving it away as a gift (to someone I know who actually enjoys playing the piano), but I couldn't resist trying it on at least lol.

Not sure about my final verdict on this yet tbh. It's CUTE ofc and I do love the print, but I'm really unsure about this set up for me (the non music loving, ex piano player who was forced to take piano bc her brother wanted to) personally lol. I don't want to hoard clothes that I don't think I'll wear so I think I just need to think about it a little more!

Ngl the only reason I bought this was Berri LOL. She had previously purchased it online and told me that it fit like a dream and that she thought I would like it. I almost bought this dress in store back in March instead of the other Yui Kanno collab OP, but backed out because I wasn't super interested in the cut of this dress compared to the other one. But a strong recommendation from a friend is enough to convince me to purchase this, and I got the last one in pink!

The fit really is quite nice imo. It could be slightly better fitted on me if I'm honest, but it's definitely not horrible. And I quite like the material and the cut. It seems like a good dress for multiple occasions (out to dinner, work, church, etc.) and generally very practical - not too flashy and not too conservative and but still cute and feminine.

When I first saw this top released online, I thought it was super adorable. I was just thinking that I needed more somewhat simple tops to wear with jeans shorts and especially with how they styled it, I couldn't resist this! Since I was really looking for this to be a low maintenance but cute top, I was a bit nervous that the cotton would be too hard to take care of (like it would require too much ironing), and it really might be, but I still like it lol.

The fit is pretty good! There's also tons of shirring in the back in both the chest and waist area so it should be decent on other body shapes as well. I doubt I will wear it more dressed "up" like in the second coordinate example though. I purchased it specifically to wear in more casual situations with denim bottoms, but I just wanted to briefly show it with the floral pants as well for kicks lol. It definitely seems like it will be great for its intended purpose and I'm quite happy with it :)

& a short coordinate video too! (& a few gifs but they are not representative of all coordinates in video) -

As a small reminder (and I'm sure those of you who actually read my posts are tired of reading these blurbs, but I am constantly getting blamed for not warning people of this, so here I go again) - I am extremely uncomfortable with my personal photos being used for the profit of others especially without a simple source link. In general, I would prefer for my photos not to be reposted without my permission at all, but if you feel the extreme need to do so, I simply ask that you just include a simple link back to my original post. Regardless of whether I watermark every single photo, I do still own the copyright to these pictures and you finding them on Google Image does not mean I do not own them anymore?? (There has been some confusion on that front apparently. And to be clear, Google does even warn you when you click on a photo that the image may be subject to copyright, and Google does not sever the photos from their original pages, so it's easy to find their source if you choose.) I do not blog and post these photos so that others can sell their products that are not associated with me in the slightest. And the response I get when I just ask for my photos to be sourced really discourages me from sharing and continuing to blog. I mean this in the least aggressive way possible, but I'm not just going to throw 80 smiley emojis in this to "soften the tone" because I am serious, and I honestly feel like you should be able to read a paragraph like this without emoticons and not be offended by its message.

  1. I think the Yui Kanno dress looks nice on you! ^.^ Super safe cu but cut well so I think it's a good buy - lol. Love the Web Limited top as well. I think it looks good with jeans but I think it would look good with a pencil skirt as well ^.^ Good buys though!

    1. Thank you <3 Twinning again. I tried the web limited top on with a few things but I think I don't have the RIGHT fitted skirt to go with it. Definitely sticking with denim for now lol.

  2. Now I wish I didn't miss out on that Yui Kanno dress! I, too, didn't favour the cut of the dress as much as the other one so I passed. Maybe if it restocks or if I find it on a different website I'll purchase it. Such a shame you may not keep the piano items because they look so good on you!

  4. Absolutely adore the suspender skirt! Even if you're not big into music that shouldn't make you feel bad for wearing something just cause it has music notes on it or is instrument themed; if you like it you like it! I sure as hell love it, it's adorable!! Also that sucks about the reposting situation, tbh that honestly scares me a lot :< watermarking is the only other thing you can do but I don't like how they stand out… what can you do though

    1. Over the past few years, I have realized that watermarking does nothing but waste my time during the editing process tbh. The people who repost legitimately do not care, have no respect and continue to blame me for X Y or Z (or any other one of 80 excuses) regardless of what I do. I used to watermark a lot but spending the time to do it and then STILL having others repost only aggravates me more lol. I don't really care about the "looks" of it but unless I write "DO NOT REPOST" scrolling all over the image, it's really been my experience that they just see what they want to see and do what they want to do.

  5. OMG the piano top and skirt looks so pretty on you! ^^ but seems like a lot of people I know were forced to play piano. When I was little my mother bought a piano and forced my sister and I to play but I was like NOOOOOPE so I did ballet instead. Now it's a waste of space in our living room haha!
