Liz Lisa parasol OP and cut x chiffon blouse [TOM purchase]

This was a huge spur of the moment order from back in June. I just happened to notice when the parasol series listings went up on TOM and that was enough to convince me that I should at least consider it. Since they were doing the daily coupon promotion at the time (with opportunities to receive $3, $5, $10, $50 or $100 worth of TOM points in a 1-time use coupon), I told myself that if I received at least a $10 one, I would make the purchase. Lo and behold, a $10 coupon rolled my way and I made the order.

This sleeveless dress has a semi-square neckline with an attached bow and small vertical ruffles on the chest and upper back panel. The all over/scatter print features umbrellas/parasols and roses.
Although this OP wasn't immediately super special appearing to me, it's definitely grown on me and I'm glad I purchased it when I did.

The fit is nice and the bow doesn't bother me as much when worn, especially when paired with an outer piece. I love that it matches so well with my Samantha Thavasa purse and also easily with other pink and white items in my wardrobe. The material is nice and light and will be great for summer. It's super easy to just throw on and go as it has no problem standing on its own.

This is a collared blouse with three functional buttons (like a polo shirt) and a bib detail around the neckline. The embroidery on the collar says "Parasol" and "Ribbon" and at each end of the collar, there is a bow. The sleeves are a sheer material with a slight puff design.
When I first saw this top, I was interested but not completely sold on purchasing it, especially at full price. However, I was kind of in a shopping mood and I remembered the shop staff pictures with the parasol OP paired with this blouse, so I reasoned that I don't already have a Liz Lisa top like this, so it would be a reasonable purchase.

I like this top a lot more than I thought I would and it's great for layering or just pairing with any skirt. The collar and sleeves have just the right amount of detail and it fits well. My only criticism is that I wish it were a little more breathable but that's a relatively minor thing considering a lot of Liz Lisa clothes aren't.

Why did I purchase from TOM?
At the time I purchased these items, both were listed at the full retail price on Tokyo Kawaii Life. Essentially I mostly saved money on not having to pay for shipping but also an additional $10 because of my TOM coupon. These items arrived just in time for me to include them in a coordinate I ended up really liking for the summer Coordinate Olympics so I'm glad I ordered them when I did for the price that I paid.

Considering purchasing from TOM yourself?

  1. Kinda random but I really like you're hair in this post. It looks pretty. The parasol series is super cute and I'm glad you purchased it - the OP is really nice and the square back is a nice shape. The matching blouse (? can I call it that since it's not buttoned the whole way?) is super nice and seems super versatile.

    1. I only had to shoot two items so my curls held up better than it does in most of the other posts!
Also, the top is definitely a blouse to me lol. Didn't realize blouse = button down? :O

    2. :D Idk. I guess clothing terminology isn't really always 100% clear. I would call it a blouse but since you said it was polo like... I can't get it out of my head :P

  2. Gosh the parasol OP is just so super sweet looking. Your second outfit with the KS purse is goals. I really like the cutsew, for some reason I keep picturing it with the swankiss vest you have and a long skirt.

    1. I think the little bib on the cutsew is a little more bothersome than an average polo but it's a really cute standalone piece!
