Liz Lisa ice cream OP and sunflower jumper skirt [TOM purchase]

I had actually put in a request with the TOM rep to have the ice cream and sunflower series stocked, so when I saw the listings up, I immediately jumped to buy them! These were both full price items at Tokyo Kawaii Life at the time and with small additional discounts and the free international shipping, it just made sense to purchase with TOM. (See price comparison table at the bottom of the post for more info!)

Liz Lisa ice cream OP in pink (173-6045-0)
アイスクリーム柄ワンピース
This sleeveless dress features a collar,  narrow ruffle bib with non-functional star shaped buttons, a square cut out in the upper back and a waist ribbon tie. There are vertical stripes throughout the dress and the hemline print includes different types of ice cream.
I had seen super early preview pictures of the red version of this series but I was so delighted to see that they had this light pink colorway! I am particularly in love with the design on the back and the vertical stripes in the print.

The material is very lightweight but I wouldn't exactly consider it "breathable". It's still quite a suitable summer dress and can easily be worn on its own or paired with a cardigan. The fit is about average for freesize with a side zipper and button on the back of the collar for dress access. The skirt doesn't have a ton of volume on its own (there's no tulle underlay) but a small petti can definitely fit under there! The back cut out is perfect to feature any one of Liz Lisa's camisole chains ♡

This jumperskirt features an all over mix sunflower print and a short ribbon tie for the waist of the skirt. This is a convertible item (jumperskirt/skirt combination) with the top panel and straps completely removable with hidden buttons at the waist so the skirt can be worn on its own.
I was trying so hard not to be swayed by this year's sunflower series since I had convinced myself I didn't need another, but I let myself purchase the jumperskirt because I liked the versatility of the convertible skirt. I also just feel like sunflowers scream summer and I find them hard to resist during the right time of year because they're so bright and fun.

Thanks to the ribbon tie, the waist of the skirt can be my desired fit. The back of the straps has three different levels to adjust for length preference.  To hit the spot that's closest to my natural waist, I need the straps extended to the max length. Because of that extra length in the straps + my flat chest, I think that there's a little too much gap in the top panel (away from my body), but it's not a huge issue and I don't think I'll ever wear this without a top underneath.

Why did I purchase from TOM?
Note that at the time of purchase (end of May 2017), both items were listed at full retail price from TKL which is why that column is populated with those numbers. I made my decision to purchase based on the price information I had available to me at the time (defined on the table above) and was able to receive both items in time to take photos for the Liz Lisa summer coordinate olympics for less the price I would have had to pay if I had purchased from another venue at that time.

Considering purchasing from TOM yourself?

  4. Wow, that sunflower detachable skirt is so perfect! ;0 I usually prefer sweets>flowers (what kind of LL fan am I??) but sunflower>ice cream for me this time! That being said, the ice cream dress is super adorable too, and I think it's really nice with the frill denim jacket! I would pick a favorite sunflower coord but I'm just loving that cut all around so I can't pick :,3
