Tokyo Kawaii Life order 38 - Liz Lisa x Yui Kanno collab ribbon barrette & Tralala ribbon button short cardigan

I haven't made an order this tiny in a long time! I actually had my cart filled with 3x as many things (for 3+x the price too lol) but since I really wasn't looking to spend unnecessarily at this point in the year, I managed to whittle it down to just these two small items and hope the shipping wouldn't be terrible. I ended up consolidating this with my TKL summer lucky bag and it didn't add very much weight.

LIZ LISA × YUI KANNO ☆リボンバレッタ

I was browsing through the outlet and stopped when I saw this ribbon barrette. I had some recollection about it being released last year with the matching Yui Kanno collab items, but didn't pay any particular attention to it. Now that Autumn 2016 is starting to come into full swing and bordeaux is (again) a feature color, I had a real reason to get this now at a great sale price!

I don't currently have a lot to wear with this bow so I don't have much to show it with at the moment, but I am anticipating that changing very soon with some purchases I plan to make from Liz Lisa's autumn releases! I'm readyyyyyy. Please look for it being utilized in future coordinates!

I was looking through the outlet and sorting by color and this cardigan caught my eye! When I was trying to style the items from the Strawberry Jam series, I realized that I didn't own a red cardigan! (The one used in the coordinate photos for that post was a borrowed one from my mom.) I had decided not to purchase the matching short sleeve cardigan that was part of the Strawberry Jam series (pictured above on the right) because I was buying so many other items at the time, but ofc it sold out quickly and didn't make it to a better sale! I also missed out on my opportunity to get one from Ank Rouge (who sells a number of similar cardigans in red) during their sale period. However, luckily for me, there was still stock of this one from Tralala which actually works out pretty well because I sorely needed something to accompany the single bow barrette lol.

There are some obvious differences between the Strawberry Jam series cardigan and the Tralala one - the biggest being the sleeve length and the second biggest being the material. Since I wasn't looking for an exact dupe and don't really expect to find one in the price range I was aiming for, I didn't let those factors bother me and actually prefer a longer sleeve for cardigans. The ribbon buttons are reasonably similar though and so is the overall length, so I'm going to consider this a win. The fabric for the cardigan is also very thin which I like. The color may be slightly different as well but I do like the slightly deeper red color which adds a bit more depth and keeps things from being too monotonous.

This is a teeny order but I have no regrets about getting either of these items when I had the chance. It would have been more ideal to purchase them at the same time as the TKL summer lucky bag (which released two days after I made this order) so I didn't have to consolidate, but I didn't want to chance them selling out because I definitely had an intended use for them and they were at really good prices! Either way, I'm glad to have them and feel a bit more autumn ready now ♡

  1. The Tralala red cardigan is a great alternative to the strawberry jam series cardigan - it's good buy if you missed that one.

    1. I'm glad you think so! There's a lot of ways in which they are different but for me it doesn't matter much lol.

    3. Yeah that's why it looks practically the same in every post apart from getting messier and messier because it's a cheap one from ebay that can't be combed lol.

  3. Cute as always! :D
What would you say the quality of Tralala cardigans are compared to LIZ Lisa or other brands? Since Tralala has a cheaper price tag, I've heard that their products aren't as durable or nice quality as the main LIZ Lisa items.

    1. I wouldn't say that's true for most items. We can't compare a thin ribbed Tralala cardigan to a wool Liz Lisa sweater though. Imo, for Tralala, the designs tend to be simpler and the brand name doesn't carry as much clout (in terms of supply and demand) which I think accounts for more of the price difference. The materials can be different for similar items but it's not always the case. I don't own a lot of Tralala personally, but for the pieces that I do own, I am comfortable with what I received for the price I paid, if that makes sense.

  4. I've been meaning to leave this comment for a long time as I always end up at your blog to check out your hauls, but I think you look SO much better without that wig you always wear. I honestly do not think it flatters your face at all whereas your real hair is very pretty and you look like a totally different person. I love all of your outfits and posts but the wig 100% ruins it for me....your real hair posts are few and far between but they are a breath of fresh air. You should do what you like, of course, but honestly even unstyled your hair is great while that wig is really not. I hope that doesn't offend you but it's the reason I don't come here as often as I otherwise would so I thought I'd share the feedback. Take care!

    1. Thank you for your feedback.
If you like my content but not my appearance in these type of blog posts, perhaps you might consider my IG instead or specifically just my OOTD type blog posts which are less likely to include the wig but still have worn photos of the Liz Lisa items. I also typically do not show my face/head in YouTube videos which is another option.
