OOTD - September 2017

I'm finally following through with a single month OOTD post! September marked the beginning of going ham over autumn colors for me, and while I was still wearing my favorite spring/summer items occasionally due to the weather, I tried to take the opportunity to wear more "seasonally-appropriate" colors at least once a week. I'm happy to be wearing more of my bordeaux items and incorporating a lot more gold as well.

Tbh, I'm a little annoyed because lately I haven't been able to take pictures of my outfits! I obviously got whatever was posted here (despite about 4 that I needed to take the time to "recreate" at a later time), but there's a number that I liked but wasn't able to capture. I either got home after the sun was going down or was just in a rush to change and go onto the next thing. Posts like this do encourage me a little bit to capture my outfits, but I guess I realize that I like wearing them either way, so that's probably what matters. However, I do struggle posting like this with so little content when there was actually more that *could* have been if I had just had a chance to take a photo or if the lighting in my room was actually not so yellow. Then again, they're just badly lit mirror pics to begin with, so it's not like these posts are full of HQ photography.

Let me know if you'd rather have slightly more content but with shitty lighting [potentially something as bad as this although ofc I'd try to lighten it a little], or if you'd rather not because you only want to see photos where the color and details are at least somewhat fairly represented despite there being less overall to see. Tbh if the lighting doesn't matter, I would love not to have to "recreate" outfits weeks after the fact just for this kind of post. Luckily I had time this month, but most of the time I don't.

  1. I love seeing those fall tones creep into your wardrobe! and personally, all content is good content, to me! I actually really dig the selfie style photos! They're casual and relatable!

    1. I just want to wear all my bordeaux and deep pinks! I'm lucky that right now I actually have three distinct places to wear outfits (work / church / class) where the people who see me don't overlap and I can probably wear some of my favorites multiple times over the next few weeks!

  2. Super cute outfits, as always! I feel you on the struggle of taking good outfit photos - getting decent lighting can be such a pain, and sometimes there just isn't a free moment to take them! Personally, I would be happy to see your more LQ photos as well, because I just really enjoy seeing your outfits even if the photos aren't literally all super HQ (although, of course, it's really great when they are!)

    1. I actually love darker colors too! But for some reason I don't love all dark *florals* so that's why I tend to skew light for Liz Lisa haha. Thanks!

  6. Beautiful as always :) Loving those autumn colors (especially the wine/bordeaux)! The MK purse looks good with your outfits so no worries about it (besides, fashion is always better when it's also function). It's cool that you're taking classes; if it's not too personal, what are you studying?
    A couple favorites/comments as always:
#3: The necklace and ribbon detail really makes this for me. I completely missed the necklace on my first scroll but now that I notice it I can't forget it!
#4: I love? This? Outfit??? Your hair and bag give such a cool vibe with it.
#9: I'm loving those colors. Bomber jacket looks so good and the outfit without it has a really nice casual but stylish mood. Idk why, but I think it would look really nice with a little bit of sock peeking out from the boots.
#10: Literally slaying. The tie of the cardigan makes the outfit very chic.
#13: I feel like this one is very "Emiii" to me. It has a certain extra "oomph" to it, though? Maybe it's the dreamy feeling of the skirt.

Also your nails are so nice! How often do you get them done?

As for my nails, I usually only get them done right before trips and I've been rather lazy about it lately, but the ones shown in this post I did myself and when I'm proactive about it, I change them just about every week.

    2. Wow, that's amazing (to both classes and your nails). I wish you luck with your classes :)

    3. Haha it's just the one class but I do need luck, so I'll take it! Thanks.

  7. This was one of my most favorite OOTD posts in a while! It really stood out to me :)
TBH I don't mind pictures with bad lighting, sometimes good light just doesn't happen. But I also don't mind waiting longer for posts with A+ lighting haha. Sorry that I am not much of a help here.

    1. I think I'll try to find a middle ground! Now that I'm coming home in less than ideal hair conditions on 4/5 days from work, I still want to post the outfits but...dont want to redo my hair lol. We'll see how it works out!
