Japan trip Summer 2015 part 8 - Liz Lisa purchases

These are my Liz Lisa purchases from my trip to Japan in early August 2015. There was a little bit of spring/summer 2015 left but most of the stores were majority fall 2015 items. I really wasn't sure what to expect to be in stock when I got there since I've never visited during this time before, and I think that I started a bit conservatively at the beginning, but it definitely picked up near the middle lol.
It's taken me a while to finally finish taking and editing all the photos, but it's worth it!
(Sorry this picture is a little bit of a fake out. I just realized there are two items in the photo that aren't included in this post, but will be in their own post since they were from an earlier TKL order. My host mom had received them for me, and then I brought back from Japan myself.)

Sweet big flower OP in navy (purchased on Day 1 from Hep Five in Osaka)
スウィート大花ワンピース
This was an autumn item that I was definitely planning on purchasing during my trip. I fell in love with it when I saw it in blog photos, and I knew that I would like the silhouette because I have an OP in a similar design from summer 2014. This one is a bit better for me though because I love navy and this material is easier to care for and doesn't wrinkle as easily. I also love the large rose print!

Web & Shibuya 109 limited gingham floral OP in pink (purchased on Day 4 from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo)
☆WEB&SHIBUYA109LIMITED☆ギンガムワンピース
This was also on my purchase list prior to going on the trip. I saw the picture that Rebby had posted of it and totally loved the print. The color irl is definitely different than the color in the promo/stock photos, but actually I personally prefer the slightly deeper pink color and feel like it's easier to match for what I have in my wardrobe. This is actually one of my favorite purchases I made! The design isn't really all that revolutionary, but I really love how they did the floral + gingham combo. I wore it during the trip on Day 9.

Sleeping Beauty floral OP in pink (purchased on Day 1 from Abeno 109 in Osaka)
 スリープフラワーワンピース
Another item that I knew I wanted to purchase and did so the first opportunity I saw it lol. The Sleeping Beauty/Aurora theme elements are hardest to see in this pink colorway (as compared to the navy or beige), but that's not the reason I like this dress so it didn't matter to me much. It's a similar silhouette to the Shibuya 109/web-limited floral gingham OP but a bit more on the plain side because the print isn't extended to the top part of the dress. I do like the contrast with the check ribbon though. This was a dress I planned to buy and then wear during the trip because I thought it would be suitable for the weather, and I did end up wearing it on Day 7!

I had my doubts about this dress initially because I wasn't in love with the navy dot + pink flower on white and wasn't crazy about the other colors either, but as they promoted it more, the doubts faded away. It's definitely more on the "adult" side (versus super girly/cutsey), but I'm an adult who occasionally does adult activities where this dress would be appropriate, so I don't mind lol. The styling will also help dress it up or down easily. Some stores I visited were sold out of the white color way, but luckily I visited enough stores to find one that had it in stock lol. I really like that it has a ribbon tie back because I think this dress looks best fitted. I wore this on Day 8 of the trip.

Bandana floral print cami OP in mocha (purchased on Day 7 from Sendai Parco in Sendai)
バンダナ花柄キャミワンピース
I purchased this dress for my brother's girlfriend in blue for her birthday when it was first released and I really liked it! I wish I had tried it on lol. The fit is actually pretty good for me. The print is super cute. When I saw this in the Sendai Parco Liz Lisa store, I figured I should just get it. Mocha isn't my first choice of color, but it was the last one and there's nothing particularly wrong with it. And actually, the more I look at it, the more I like the color lol. The other choices were both blue so there wasn't a pink to compete with, and I could use more brown clothing options haha. It's simple in design but still really cute, and I think it would be great to wear for casual occasions.

Big flower romper in white (purchased on Day 8 from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo)
ビッグフラワーロンパース
I was surprised to see this romper available in store! I hadn't seen it the first time I visited Shibuya 109 so I jumped on the chance to get it when I visited again. I don't know if they were hiding it or if it was a return or what (the price tag was in tact so I doubt it), but there doesn't seem to be any flaws, and this is the color I really liked! I wasn't planning to buy this at all. When it was first released, I really liked it on the shop staff and they seemed to be promoting it a lot, especially in this color, but I'm not super into rompers for me because they're not...convenient. And Liz Lisa's tend to be on the shorter side so I tend not to wear them as much because I'm leaning slightly more conservative lately for skirt length.
But actually once I tried it on, I realized it would have been a huge mistake to pass on it lol. I love it! The length is not as short as I thought it would be, and it's actually a reasonable dress length. The fit of the top is a little iffy for my body depending on how the straps lay, but there is room for someone with a bit more of a chest.

Opal flower gingham check skirt in pink (purchased on Day 6 from Ikebukuro Parco in Tokyo)
オパール花ギンガムチェックスカート (151-4033-0)
Tbh I really only bought this because I wanted to buy more than one item and this was the most reasonable option in the store. I didn't expect to like it and it wasn't on my radar at all. I thought I might purchase the OP version if I could find one, but I wasn't even considering the skirt. But LOL I LIKE IT A LOT. The fit on the waist is better than I expected and it has just the right amount of volume. The material feels really nice and soft and it's flowy, not rigid or scratchy or like taffeta or tulle.

Panel floral skirt in yellow (purchased on Day 6 from Ikebukuro Parco in Tokyo)
パネル花柄スカート
I really liked this skirt and came really close to purchasing it online several times but it was always part of a "buy two" offer where I would have to get another item as well to get the sale price, and I just didn't want anything else in the sale venues. But I saw it in store in yellow and navy, and figured it was now or never. In fact, I almost got it in both colors lol. In the end, I thought that the yellow would be more versatile. And I'm really happy with it!
Actually, the skirt is kind of heavy, especially in the waistband, but it just makes it feel really secure when worn somehow lol. It doesn't bother me too much. Originally I wanted this skirt in the pink colorway (which wasn't available in store), but I think this yellow version is a great choice as well. And even the navy would have been awesome lol. It's really easy to just pair with a simple top, and I like the length and the fit. I ended up wearing this on the trip on Day 10!

Teacup floral top in pink (purchased on Day 5 from Machida 109 in Tokyo)
ティー花柄トップス
This was kind of an impulse buy. Or, more like, I just felt like buying something because I had S go all the way to Machida with me, and I wanted it to be worth it lol. I hadn't seen this top in any of the stores that I had already visited, and I do like the tea cup print, so this is what I ended up picking. I wouldn't say that this is my usual style and I've probably said like 80 times here already that I'm not a huge fan of the half sleeve length, but it's not as bad on as I thought it would be lol. I'm still not 100% sure if I'd really wear this out because it feel a bit young, but it is certainly cute!

Dot chiffon sukpan in white (purchased on Day 5 from Machida 109 in Tokyo)
ドットシフォンスカパン
(This item didn't fit on my mannequin so I pinned it on for the pictures. If it looks weird or uneven, that's probably why lol.)
I bought this sukapan specifically to go with the teacup top lol. The teacup top actually has its own matching teacup sukapan, but none were in stock, and this seemed like a reasonable alternative. In fact, I think it works pretty well. It adds a little bit of volume and length but doesn't distract from the teacup print. It's a really nice neutral color that could easily work with other similar tops as well! Or just other basic tops tucked in like this ↓ (I wanted to pick a top that would allow you to actually see the sukapan)

Sendai Parco 3rd anniversary floral set up (purchased on Day 7 from Sendai Parco in Sendai)

http://ameblo.jp/lizsendai/entry-12003241608.html
There were two of these still left in the Sendai Parco store when I visited and since it's a (location) limited item, I figured I might as well get it lol. This was actually originally released for their 3rd anniversary back in March which explains the long sleeves and I was surprised they still had two sets lol. It's really cute imo! I knew I wasn't going to wear it during the current trip, but maybe it'll be useful on a future one? I haven't come to a final verdict on this for myself yet, but since it's two pieces, I really like that you have more options than just wearing it one way (like a dress)!

My Melody 40th anniversary Shibuya 109 limited My Melody flower wreath apron OP in white (purchased on Day 8 from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo)
☆MY MELODY 40th ANNIVERWSARY in SHIBUYA☆マイメロフラワーおめかしエプロンワンピース
I saw this dress the first day I visited Shibuya 109 and was surprised, but decided to pass on it. When I went back, and it was still there, I took the plunge. Because My Melody and why not? It's sold out online and the only other place to get it is Shibuya 109, so given the opportunity, I nabbed it. If only for a chance to try it on and see how it looked on me. I had seen it on several other people since it was released and thought it looked good on them, but their body types were a bit different from mine, so I was still unsure. I had the opportunity to try it on in store, but I was gross and sticky and chose to purchase first and try later lol.
The My Melody in the print isn't overpowering and is just a cute, subtle detail if you look closer. The floral in the print is what really captures your attention and I really like it - both the wreath shape and the bunches. I'm not personally a huge fan of the apron look/aesthetic which is kind of prominent on this dress in the front and I'm not crazy about the proportions on me, but it's not as bad as I expected lol. With a good heel, I quite like it. I'm not sure if I'm the right person for this dress long term, but I enjoy it a lot more after trying it on. There's no side zipper so the dress is actually pretty forgiving + there's shirring in the back upper area and the ribbon tie keeps it from being a sack, so I think this dress could fit a range of sizes.

Liz Lisa x My Melody x Little Twin Stars triple collab kirakira angel OP in deep pink (purchased on Day 1 from Abeno 109 in Osaka)
☆LIZ LISA×My Melody×Little Twin Stars☆キラキラ エンジェルワンピース
The Liz Lisa x My Melody x Little Twin Stars triple collab items released two weeks before my trip. I had to make a decision about whether or not I wanted to purchase them online at the time of the release or wait until I was in Japan and risk it. I wasn't sure how popular the items would be or what stock each store would have when I finally made it over there, but in the end, I decided to wait and see. Usually, pink is the most popular color/sells out quickest, but this time for in store, I think it was white. (Online, white and pink went equally fast.) I saw that this dress was available at the first store I went to on the trip, and quickly scooped it up. It was the last one they had. Other stores had this deep pink color and/or the lavender as well, but none had white.
I like this dress a lot more than I anticipated! I like the fabric and it's not as heavy as the other collab dresses lol. Plus this one is a regular short sleeve instead of a half sleeve! (And the fastener on the sleeve is a discreet snap which is nice because it's less obvious than a button if you need to release it to give your arm a bit more freedom.) The fit is also really great and comfortable. Sometimes the Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collab sweets OP feels like a damn sack on me wtf. I didn't try on this dress while I was in Japan, but I wish I did! (When will I learn???) If I had known the fit was this fab, I would have bought it in lavender too lol. That's how much I enjoy it. The print and everything is nice as well, but I'm most fond of the overall design and cut of the dress.

Flower wedge pumps in ivory (purchased on Day 1 from Hep Five in Osaka)
バラコサパンプス
These were originally purchased out of what I thought was necessity. I already really liked them of course, but I was somewhat in a state of desperation when I bought them because the shoes that I brought were killing my feet so badly. I figured any different shoe would be a nice respite, but what I really should have bought (and I did later) was sneakers, so I don't know why I convinced myself that buying these pumps at this point was okay lol. I mean, it wasn't a terrible decision, but it was more or less impulsive in that moment. When I tried to wear them on Day 4, they ended up cutting up my feet even worse lol. But that was probably specific that time and that weather, and I don't think I'll have any more problems with them now that they're a bit worn in, especially if they're worn with socks.
I think I actually prefer the pumps without the flower if I had to pick one way or the other, but I do love to have the option to dress them up a bit more if I feel like it. The heel height is really comfortable and the ivory color is easy to match. They're also not very heavy feeling when worn which is also great. I know that people complain about the shoe sizes being really variable, but L fits me fine, as usual, and even if it was a little bit, the mary jane strap and the ankle strap both help keep your foot in place.
Worn in this post with the Sleeping Beauty floral OP, the Teacup top, the Floral panel skirt and Sendai Parco 3rd anniversary floral set up.

Liz Lisa x Yui Kanno rose barrette in white (purchased on Day 5 from Harajuku Takeshita Doori in Tokyo)
☆LIZ LISA×YUI KANNO☆ローズバレッタ
Haha, I bought just this by itself from the Harajuku store. I was shopping with Ebony and I just really wanted to buy something! I had tried on the large bow sandals from summer but they weren't for me, so instead, I was sifting through the accessories and found this! I already have it in pink, purchased during my last trip when I was at the Shibuya 109 Yui Kanno event, but I really like it, so I didn't think it would hurt to get it in white as well which offers a little more versatility. I still need to practice a bit more to get it placed just right in my hair (not too high or low or too far back etc, essentially just trying to figure out where it sits best), but now I have twice the opportunity lol.
Worn in this post with Sweet big flower OP (x2), Dot flower OP and Big flower romper.

2015 3 Piece Cup Team C bag in beige (purchased on Day 4 from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo)
♥C♥Happiness Spring Flowerコーデ
This purse was purchased out of necessity, but I'm glad it happened that way lol. The purse I brought with me on the trip was horribly shedding because ...it's old/well used and it was hot and sweat probably wasn't helping lol. I saw this bag in Shibuya 109 and the shape and size seemed perfect! The color was really reasonable as well since I don't think I really have any beige purses. (I have other neutral colors like ivory, etc but not beige.) What's great about this purse, which isn't initially obvious, is that it has so many freaking options lol. There's the zippers on the side that can expose a lace detail + make the purse bigger on the front and the back. There's the pouch that sits in the front that can be removed and used as a clutch or a small shoulder bag with the included shoulder chain strap. It can obviously also be used as a pouch inside the bag if you want. And the large bag itself has a shoulder strap as well! This bag can definitely have several different looks and uses. [In my haul video part 2 (coming soon, sorry lol), I try to illustrate the options!] I'm surprised it was still available since it was first released as one of the 3 piece cup items back in early March!
Used with coordinates in this post with the Sleeping Beauty OP, the Floral panel skirt (x2) and the Sendai Parco 3rd anniversary floral set up.

Liz Lisa x My Melody x Little Twin Stars triple collab tote bag (purchased on Day 5 from a store selling Sanrio goods on Takeshita Doori in Harajuku)
☆LIZ LISA×My Melody×Little Twin Stars☆トートバック
This was another triple collab item (besides the OP) that I was hoping I'd be able to get in store. I wasn't extremely hopeful because similar totes for the My Melody collabs sell really well. And, as it turns out, this one was very popular as well and none of the Liz Lisa stores I visited had it. However, as I was browsing through Harajuku Takeshita Doori with Ebony, we saw it in a store that sold Sanrio stuff! I was quite surprised to see it. It was the same price as Liz Lisa retailed it for (with all the appropriate tags, etc), so I jumped at the opportunity to get it. Definitely a stroke of luck because I don't think I would have been able to get it otherwise.
The print is so so cute! I love the floral with the three characters floating around on it. I also really like the size which is great for a tote bag, and the color. I don't often use tote bags which is why I've never been die hard to get one from a collab in the past, but a rare opportunity presented itself, so I knew I was meant to buy it lol. The design for this tote is actually (pretty much exactly) the same as a novelty tote that Liz Lisa had back in January, but this one has the special triple collab print.
Used with coordinates in this post with the Opal flower gingham check skirt and the Liz Lisa x My Melody x Little Twin Stars triple collab kirakira angel OP.

Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collab cushion (purchased on Day 3 from Kawaramachi OPA in Kyoto)
☆LIZ LISA×My Melody☆クッション
I knew from the blogs that the price was reduced for this cushion so I was hoping and hoping I'd find a store with one left lol. I had considered purchasing it when it was released during my spring trip, but I couldn't bring myself to pay retail for a decorative pillow. I came close to purchasing it online several times too before it sold out. Fortunately, the Kyoto Kawaramachi OPA store had this last one left. (A couple other stores I visited later had them as well, but I couldn't have known that lol.) It was a little bit of a pain to pack, but no regrets because I really love the sweets design and the big My Melody and the price was right!
Rose ribbon embossed trunk carry (purchased on Day 3 from Hep Five in Osaka)
If this looks familiar, that's probably because it is lol. I already have this trunk from when I ordered the 2015 Liz Lisa web-limited fukubukuro. [It was also featured in my 2015 vs. 2014 vs. 2013 trunk comparison post.] I don't really have a good excuse or anecdote about buying it...I just did it lol. I didn't bring a rolling carry on with me anyway (thinking that maybeeeee it would be a possibility to nab one), so it wasn't a hassle to have this one with me. And it allowed me to pack more things which is good! It's the exact same trunk as was released for the fukubukuro, so there's nothing new about it, but it's still really cute and functions well for what it is lol. Several stores were still selling these on their own when I got there. It had previously been part of a set price promo deal with 3 items which ended well before my trip, but I was still able to get the trunk on its own.

Whew, this post has been in the works for a while since I got back (I've been working on it in the background of publishing the others), and I'm glad for it to finally be done! A number of these items weren't even tried on before I got home so it was interesting for me to see them on me and then attempt to coordinate them. But man, the weather has been killer lately! Humid humid humid because we have three huge storms right around us. And when it's not humid, it's grey and rainy lol - also not good conditions for taking photos. I know I usually do three looks with each item, but for some of these it was less because I felt the time crunch and the heat and didn't want to sweat lol. I'm sure you'll see them again in OOTD shots in the future though!

Please also check out the associated video(s) -

I decided to do two parts because 11 minutes is kind of long for a coordinate video, even with all of these items. Part 1 and Part 2 are both now live!

I upgraded my point card on this trip! Combined with my two previous trips (Summer 2014 and Spring 2015), I was able to fill two point cards completely and was given this pink premium member's card for my third! I kind of doubt I'll be able to fill it within a year to keep the status but it's still nice to have, and I am kind of amazed I even did it lol.
During this trip, I hardly accumulated any points though because any item that had any kind of sale discount didn't garner any points. The majority of items I bought had at least a little bit of a sale price, and even though I probably spent a good amount total to get a lot closer to halfway done with this card, I'm not even close because of that lol.

Another HUGE bummer for me is that none of the stores had any novelty items left! NONE AT ALL. That's never happened to me before, but of course, I don't travel to Japan that much. I was pretty disappointed with that since it's a huge perk to shopping in store versus online, but I guess there's isn't anything to be done about it, and this time I didn't have to think about making each purchase work towards a certain amount. The make up pouch novelty was released on 7/18 and my first shopping day was 8/1 so they must have gone pretty quickly lol. The next novelty didn't start until 8/15, 4 days after I left lol. They had a whole bunch of novelty promotions in June and July, so I guess they took a break between July and August haha. Too bad for me because I love novelty items.

I wrote myself a cheat sheet for the Liz Lisa store locations I was hoping/planning to visit. These are all the Liz Lisa stores I visited during this trip with the associated mall names, floor numbers, hours, nearest stations and in some cases, suggested exits or other helpful hints I use for myself!
  • Liz Lisa Hep Five, 1F 11:00 - 21:00 (Hankyu Umeda station)
  • Liz Lisa Tennoji MIO, 5F 11:00 - 21:00 (JR Tennoji station)
  • Liz Lisa Abeno 109, 2F 10:00 - 21:00 (JR Tennoji south exit, walk from MIO, look for Qs Mall)
  • Liz Lisa Kawaramachi OPA, 2F 11:00 - 21:00 (Hankyu Kawaramachi station, Exit 3)
  • Liz Lisa Shibuya 109, 5F 10:00 - 21:00 (JR Shibuya station, Hachiko exit)
  • Liz Lisa Shinjuku (Studio) Alta, 1F 11:00 - 20:30 (JR Shinjuku station, east exit and walk north, can walk through Lumine EST connected to station)
  • Liz Lisa Ikebukuro Parco, B2F 10:00 - 21:00 (JR Ikebukuro station, north exit then walk through underpass, look for Auntie Anne's)
  • Liz Lisa Harajuku Takeshita Doori, 11:00 - 20:00 (JR Harajuku station, Takeshita exit)
  • Liz Lisa Omiya Arche, 3F 10:00 - 21:00 (JR Omiya station, west exit)
  • Liz Lisa Yokohama Vivre, 1F 11:00 - 21:00 (JR Yokohama station, west exit and walk towards Takashimaya and Hotel Bay Sheraton, cross bridge and it will be directly to your left)
  • Liz Lisa Chiba Aurora Mall, 2F 10:00 - 20:00 (JR Chiba station, walk towards Keisei Chiba station, look for Junnu)
  • Liz Lisa Machida 109, 2F 10:30 - 20:30 (JR Machida station, north exit)
  • Liz Lisa Sendai Parco, 5F 10:00 - 21:00 (JR Sendai station, north or west exit)
Most of these I visited on my last trip as well except for Abeno 109 and Sendai Parco, so I tried to double confirm the exit information lol. Some of the stations actually have directional signs that will help you find the mall (like for Hep Five and MIO), so those are really easy. When we're in Tokyo, we usually take JR as much as possible so there may be cases where the subway station might be closer or have a better exit (like for Shibuya 109), but these are hints that I use for myself, so JR references are all I have lol. If you see any errors or know better ways to get to some of these locations, please let me know!

  Japan trip Summer 2014 posts

As a small reminder (and I'm sure those of you who actually read my posts are tired of reading these blurbs, but I am constantly getting blamed for not warning people of this, so here I go again) - I am extremely uncomfortable with my personal photos being used for the profit of others especially without a simple source link. In general, I would prefer for my photos not to be reposted without my permission at all, but if you feel the extreme need to do so, I simply ask that you just include a simple link back to my original post. Regardless of whether I watermark every single photo, I do still own the copyright to these pictures and you finding them on Google Image does not mean I do not own them anymore?? (There has been some confusion on that front apparently. And to be clear, Google does even warn you when you click on a photo that the image may be subject to copyright, and Google does not sever the photos from their original pages, so it's easy to find their source if you choose.) I do not blog and post these photos so that others can sell their products that are not associated with me in the slightest. And the response I get when I just ask for my photos to be sourced really discourages me from sharing and continuing to blog. I mean this in the least aggressive way possible, but I'm not just going to throw 80 smiley emojis in this to "soften the tone" because I am serious, and I honestly feel like you should be able to read a paragraph like this without emoticons and not be offended by its message.

  2. Aw man, you got so many great items - ones I really wouldn't have bought personally - or looked at much myself but they look great on you! I think you got so lucky with the collab stuff you got - I knew you got a bit- but you got quite a lot considering it was quite past the dates for some of the stuff. ^.^

These posts have got me so pumped for my Japan trip! I won't be spending every day doing things like you, because I'll be spending 12 days at my partners grandparents house which is out of town from Shizuoka, and I don't think I will get to see lots of different Liz Lisa's, but I am still excited to visit Liz Lisa!!!! :D Hopefully their winter collection is nice! *fingers crossed*

    1. Shizuoka isn't too far from Tokyo by bullet train, maybe if you had some extra time? But otherwise, at least there's one in Shizuoka at all lol! I'm sure the winter collection is going to be amazing. I always wish I lived in a place that got colder so I'd be able to wear their outerwear!

  7. So many great purchases Emi! They all look amazing on you, but especially the Web & Shibuya 109 limited gingham floral OP in pink. Really sad I missed out on some of those great items like those purses. Hoping Liz Lisa would release some more amazing items. So far the A/W collection hasn't disappoint. I am looking forward to seeing how the Liz Lisa x Magical Girl collaboration items look like :D Hoping it's super cute.

    1. They have a list of all of the shops at lizlisa.com as well and if you have access to google maps/gps, it shouldn't be too hard to find the stores!
