Japan trip Spring 2015 part 12 - Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collab OPs and hand towel

This is a short continuation of Part 11 -  Liz Lisa shopping items/coordinates. I wanted this to be separate since the items are part of the Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collaboration, and I thought they should stand on their own lol. (Come to think of it, maybe I could have done that for the Yui Kanno collab items too, facepalm.)
Anyway, I was super happy that the My Melody collab items would be releasing while I was on my trip, and I'd get a chance to purchase them in store and not have to pay for shipping! The release date for the vol. 1 items was set for 3/28 which was the last day of my trip.
There were also two My Melody events that would be occurring while I was in Japan as well. HOWEVER, the event on 3/21 was in Osaka (Hep Five) while I would be in Tokyo and the event on 3/28 was in Tokyo (Shinjuku Alta) when I would be in Osaka/Kyoto FML. Since I was going to arrive very late on 3/20 in Japan, I didn't think it was possible to make it over to Hep Five on 3/21 and still be in the first twenty in line, so I decided not to even try and then waste 6 hours on it wtf. And I couldn't go back to Tokyo on 3/28 and make it in time in the morning either, so I would have had to shell out extra money for an extra hotel night stay from the night before and still no guarantee I would make it in the first twenty + that was the day I planned to meet Berri and I absolutely had it make it on my plane back at Kansai International, so that just really didn't work out for me. I was just in the exact opposite city for each event while I was in Japan FML. It would have been so crazy if I could have made it to both! :( I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I was really sad though tbh. Especially because the Hep Five event was doing an early release of the OPs and the cardigans!
I was super worried that for some reason I wouldn't be able to get my hands on what I wanted on the morning on the 3/28 because I wouldn't get in line soon enough or something and would have missed my chance to get it online on 3/27 because I put all my eggs in the basket of the 28th lol. But luckily I was able to make it to the Tennoji MIO anniversary event on Day 6 and was able to purchase the OPs during an early release on that day! Even though that took way longer than it should have, I was glad not to have to deal with it on the morning of 3/28, and I was able to still get exactly what I wanted - the OP is both pink and white!
First thing in the morning after I got my make up on on 3/27 (Day 7), I wanted to try on my new Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collab OPs because I didn't have time on the day I purchased them!
I was out essentially all day on Day 6, and was going to change and wear one of them that day after purchasing, but since we ended up going to the deer park, I knew I didn't want any deer biting either of these dresses, so the next opportunity to put them on wasn't until this morning pretty much! First impression? I loved the pink one a lot! White was also quite nice ofc as well since the pattern stands out so nicely, but I was surprised about how much I really enjoyed the pink version.

Side-by-side (but slightly different views for each) -
The print obviously stands out a lot better on the white version, but I think the subtlety of the print on the pink version is actually really nice. It's not so in-your-face, but still really cute and girly. I'm really happy I decided to get both, because I feel like they'll be good for different occasions or just depending on my mood.

Like I said earlier, because there's so much pink, I feel like this version of the dress is just so girly and feminine. Although the print doesn't stand out a lot, it is still very present and super cute. I'm glad they decided to do a ribbon tie because I think that compared to the 4th collab OPs, this one can fit a bit more people due to that slight change even though they are somewhat similar in style otherwise. I'm not an overwhelming fan of this sleeve length, but it's growing on me.

As much as I gushed about the pink, the white is gorgeous as well in its own way. The base is actually quite close to "white" (versus cream or ivory which is sometimes classed as the white), and the colors in the print make it really come alive. You can really see all the details in the floral and each of the sweets, from the cakes to the macarons and more. And it's totally beautiful. This is one of the prints that makes the price tag really worth it imo. I really feel like I'd never find something like this locally/in America.

☆LIZ LISA×My Melody☆ハンカチ
This was just a small impulse buy in Kyoto on Day 8 when I spent about 10 minutes in the Kawaramachi OPA store with Berri. Although I was able to purchase the OPs on Day 6 at Tennoji MIO, I wasn't able to purchase any of the vol. 1 accessories that day (although I could have gotten a cardigan). Since I was in store and didn't have to worry about shipping being an added cost, I knew I wanted to get one accessory while I was there. I really liked the big My Melody character/print that was on the pillow but couldn't bring myself to spend the money on it, so I settled for the hand towel because it had the same print. I hesitated hard about getting the tote, and I now wish I had just bought it, ugh. At the time, I reasoned (in my head) that I hardly ever use totes, and I would be much less likely to use a white tote for fear of it getting dirty, but now suddenly I want it? Lol wtf. Seriously though, I guess it would have been frivolous. I'm glad to have the hand towel with this print on it anyway! Although it almost seems too precious to actually use :O

Edit: I also made a short YouTube video for my Liz Lisa x My Melody 6th collab items! -

I wanted to take a look at the My Melody collab OPs that I own side-by-side. I really think each is special in their own way, although still somewhat similar. When I was taking this picture, my mom walked by and said, "Why are you taking a picture of those dresses? Because they're all the same?" And I was like wtf, "no they're not the same", and pointed out all the little differences to her, but really yeah, there are some nice features that kind of link each of the dresses, like the collar, buttons, sleeve or how the the print is laid out. I feel like these three are all obviously of the same lineage but still unique.
The dresses side-by-side worn (6th collab --> 5th collab --> 4th collab) -
Tbh I have a little more love for the 4th and 6th collab OPs simply because they are short sleeve and more plausible for me to wear, but I just love the strawberry print on the 5th collab OP so much - I knew I wouldn't have wanted to miss getting it, and I'm glad I did even if I don't wear it often. Too bad I'm not confident enough to try and chop/resew the sleeves lol.

This is essentially the end of my Japan trip Spring 2015 posts! (Although technically the day-by-day posts ended at Part 9.) I hope this prolonged blogging format (12 parts omfg) wasn't too exaggerated and drawn out for you, but I think I actually kind of liked organizing it this way. Now I have a record of what I did each day specifically as a timeline, and then at the end have a culmination of all my Liz Lisa purchases + other tidbits to remember :) If anyone really hated it though, please let me know lol. I don't travel a lot so you don't have to worry about long sequences like this very often, but lol this took forever to get all together. I did have a great trip, so I was happy to share my experience(s) with you. If you have any questions about specifics, please feel free to ask and I'll try my best to answer!

As a small reminder (and I'm sure those of you who actually read my posts are tired of reading these blurbs, but I am constantly getting blamed for not warning people of this, so here I go again) - I am extremely uncomfortable with my personal photos being used for the profit of others especially without a simple source link. In general, I would prefer for my photos not to be reposted without my permission at all, but if you feel the extreme need to do so, I simply ask that you just include a simple link back to my original post. Regardless of whether I watermark every single photo, I do still own the copyright to these pictures and you finding them on Google Image does not mean I do not own them anymore?? (There has been some confusion on that front apparently. And to be clear, Google does even warn you when you click on a photo that the image may be subject to copyright, and Google does not sever the photos from their original pages, so it's easy to find their source if you choose.) I do not blog and post these photos so that others can sell their products that are not associated with me in the slightest. And the response I get when I just ask for my photos to be sourced really discourages me from sharing and continuing to blog. I mean this in the least aggressive way possible, but I'm not just going to throw 80 smiley emojis in this to "soften the tone" because I am serious, and I honestly feel like you should be able to read a paragraph like this without emoticons and not be offended by its message.
