Liz Lisa tropical juice OP in yellow [TOM purchase]

I was lucky that the tropical juice print series was released while I was in Japan but I really couldn't decide on a color because I saw something nice about all three. White was definitely my favorite for the OP and I ended up with the sukapan in pink because it's so bright and summer-y feeling but I cam very close to purchasing yellow instead. When I came back from my trip and saw that TOM was carrying this series, I took the chance to get the OP in yellow! In truth, between the OP and the sukapan, I had moreso wanted the sukapan in yellow, but it was already sold out. I didn't want to miss out on yellow given the opportunity I had in front of me, so I happily purchased the OP.

This print on this dress features 4 different colored drinks on the hem surrounded with roses and daises throughout. I had already seen it in person and have another version of the OP so there isn't much that I wasn't expecting! I love the tropical juice print in general, and on the yellow version, the teal drink really stands out while the daisies blend a little more into the background (especially compared to the pink version). Unlike the white version, the lace up ribbon on the yellow dress matches the base yellow color.

After spending more time with this dress, I realized the reason why sometimes I like the fit and other times I think there's something more to be desired is because it fits better after I eat lol. And I will probably eat at some point while wearing the dress, so it should all sort itself out. It is a bit loose on the top for me (but it's good for you if you have more of a chest) and I wish the shirring in the back grabbed a little more, but otherwise, overall, I can't complain much because there's so many things I appreciate about it. I have no regrets about getting the same dress in a different color and with the weather how it is lately, I'll have plenty of opportunities to wear it!

I really like looking at all three colors side by side. They each feel special in their own way.

Why did I purchase from TOM versus TKL?
Note: Intl shipping via SAL for TKL package was calculated based on an estimated 500g package weight with service fees with Tenso.
I had just come back from my trip but was still in love with this print series. Cost was a factor for me but, as you can see, it wasn't such a hard decision to go with TOM. Additionally, I also used TOM points (not shown in the calculation due to specificity to my personal account) that brought the cost down much more than it ever would have been from another retailer. If I hadn't used any points, I could have also used my $5 off coupon for April, bringing the TOM total down to at least $83.48.

Considering purchasing from TOM yourself?

  1. So much juice! This set really sung to you, huh :D
Those yellow wedges go so well with it!And the hat with a braid, yay! So cute and pretty!
Normally I love white colors the best (prints just pop on those) but I think yellow is my favorite for this set. It's just so summery and sweet, and yellow is so unappreciated lol. Yay fruits and summer!

    1. Pale yellow has certainly grown on me over the past year or so! I also used to think that white was best for prints, but have started seeing the validity in the other color options more and more! Plus it's easier because sometimes potential accidental stains aren't as obvious when the base color isn't stark white lol.

  2. Love the soft yellow they used for this - I love that the print looks so completely different on all 3 different colours. Glad you ended up with all of them lmao

    1. Yeah I think it's interesting because they didn't change the print itself but it still pops differently on each color!

  3. Gotta say I'm a huge sucker for beverage prints like this...I'm more of a Lolita than anything else but I'd definitely buy this.
I also love the versatility of your outfits! You got so many different looks, though my favorite by far is with the corsage actress hat - it gives it such a summery feel!

    1. Thank you so much! I do purposefully try to show the item 4 different ways (and at least 2 different seasons) if it's possible, so I'm glad it doesn't go entirely unnoticed!
