I was further enticed by the two color options for the OP as seen on Minami, my favorite of the LL Gals!
I really couldn't decide which color I liked better. I was pretty sure I preferred pink (which seems kind of quintessential Liz Lisa to me) but there was something about the blue color option that was really appealing! Most of the people I asked said I should get blue, especially because I already own a lot of pink. Truthfully, I also own quite a bit of blue from Liz Lisa too haha. In the end, I decided to try to get both! I knew it wouldn't be easy because of the popularity of the collab items, but I didn't want to have any regrets about color, and truly couldn't decide even though I was constantly staring at the blog photos of the dresses!
The VENT/online release of the items was set for 3/28 at 21:00 Japan time which is 02:00am HST. Even though I had set an alarm for 01:50am, I happened randomly to wake up at 1:45am (apparently super eager wtf)! After I logged into my VENT account, I refreshed the OP's listing every minute or so until the "COMING SOON" changed to "Add to Cart" at around 1:55am! The site was a little slow, but I managed to first add the Pink color option and then the Blue one to my cart.

I hesitated for about 30 seconds because I was trying to figure out if I wanted to add anything else, but decided not to waste time and eagerly checked out!
I ordered on 3/28, order processed at Tenso on 3/31, left Tenso on 4/1 and I received it on 4/5.
Here are the dresses! (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
And me in the dresses. Small photo spam coming up. And I tried to get the best lighting I could, but it was really variable earlier and I'm just too excited about the dresses not to post at this exact moment -
Side-by-side with various Liz Lisa shoes -
Hopefully more and better pictures in subsequent days as I get to actually wear the dresses out!
As a small reminder (and I'm sure those of you who actually read my posts are tired of reading these blurbs, but I am constantly getting blamed for not warning people of this, so here I go again) - I am extremely uncomfortable with my personal photos being used for the profit of others especially without a simple source link. In general, I would prefer for my photos not to be reposted without my permission at all, but if you feel the extreme need to do so, I simply ask that you just include a simple link back to my original post. Regardless of whether I watermark every single photo, I do still own the copyright to these pictures and you finding them on Google Image does not mean I do not own them anymore?? (There has been some confusion on that front apparently. And to be clear, Google does even warn you when you click on a photo that the image may be subject to copyright, and Google does not sever the photos from their original pages, so it's easy to find their source if you choose.) I do not blog and post these photos so that others can sell their products that are not associated with me in the slightest. And the response I get when I just ask for my photos to be sourced really discourages me from sharing and continuing to blog. I mean this in the least aggressive way possible, but I'm not just going to throw 80 smiley emojis in this to "soften the tone" because I am serious, and I honestly feel like you should be able to read a paragraph like this without emoticons and not be offended by its message.

How to order from Liz Lisa and Tokyo Kawaii Life video and photo tutorial here!
The dresses are so cute! *_* I love how the prints stands out on the blue dress.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to snatch both those dresses when it was released.
Thank you! I feel the same way about the blue dress, and I was so lucky to get both.
DeleteLike I said on Twitter before, I'm so envious of you for being able to get the dresses in both colourways. I wasn't sure if I wanted to get one but now seeing how lovely they are on you, I really regret missing the release. Then again I just recently bought the pair of LL pumps I've always wanted so maybe I shouldn't be too greedy. :D
ReplyDeleteThe dresses seriously look very nice on you! I'd initially thought the pink one is better but seems like the print on the blue dress stands out more. :p
I felt that way about the color as well. The print is one of the best parts of the dress so I like that at least one of the dresses shows it off!
Deleteasdfghjklove! I love both the dresses... I can't wait to get minnneee!! O.O They both go with your shoes really well actually...
ReplyDeleteAs I was editing the photos, I realized my Tralala wedges might have been a better match than the pink summer wedges in terms of color but ...too late now lol. Or just too late to include in this particular post. Haha. Hope yours has arrived!
DeleteSuper lovely dress on you! Good planning on your part with ordering it.
ReplyDeleteI was actually in Japan at one of the Liz Lisa stores the day of the release and when I returned home this dress was within the tumblr-webs. I couldn't believe I missed the dress when I was at the store 'cause it's so darling (there were tons of other items from the collab. I almost bought the wallet, but I couldn't justify having one chance in a Liz Lisa store and buying a wallet)! But now I know I missed the dress since it sold out.
Lol I apologize, the vomit of posts about the LLxMM OPs was probably my fault. I help mod a couple of gyaru-type tumblogs and queued/published a bunch of photos of the dresses because I was so freaking excited that I got my hands on them. Oh, well also of course because I think they're super cute! I know in some store locations, people were mad because the dresses also sold out in store SO fast/they didn't have enough stock. I don't know all the details though but I think one the blog even issued an official apology :|
DeleteEmiii!
ReplyDeleteOMG. OMG. Glad you were able to get your hands on both OPs! You look really good in the blue one ^^ I was too broke at the time to buy them but if they ever come back in stock again, I'll get the blue one.
<3 Sachiko
Thank you! I was surprised and SO pleased that I was able to get both. I feel so lucky. I think people really underestimated the blue option compared to the pink one, but it's truly great imo haha.
Deleteomg the dresses are SO CUTEEE!!! Makes me want to buy LL items in the future ;v; the investment on Gyaru brands is ridiculous but...so adorable....QAQ
ReplyDeleteps. if you don't mind, could you remove the captcha on your blog? or change it to comments have to be approved or something? for some reason the captchas i get on your blog are always massive and it's reeeally annoying .-.
Thank you! I rarely buy Liz Lisa at full price but I had to make an exception for this dress because there was no way the stock was going to last until sale time!
DeleteI was actually under the impression that I took the captcha off + no spam filter or whatever it is (I find them annoying too), so I'm not sure how to even further get rid of it but I'll try.
Thought so from the beginning, and I'm still in love with the blue one in these pics. The colorful ribbon on the back & little ones on the chest are the perfect touch and the whole look is stunning with the pom pom boots :D Really like your butterflie shots too, very well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! <3
DeleteI love these dresses so much. (They look so cute on you!) I just ordered from Vent for the first time yesterday (thanks to your vid), and was disappointed that they weren't available anymore. I didn't realize how popular they were! Not to sound rude, but any chance you will be selling them in the future (once you've had your fill of them...that is, if you ever do, ha-ha!)?
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah all of the LLxMM stuff is pretty popular which means they'll keep doing them! Maybe you'll get another chance with the next collab's dress. I'll definitely think of you if I think selling (although I already promised someone first dibs on the pink if I sell, but you next!). Not rude, doesn't hurt to ask, right?
DeleteThanks! :) I'd totally go for either color, actually. And knowing me, I'll accidentally miss the next collab, too. Dx
DeleteI don't have any plans right now to sell (I just bought them ofc) but I will try and let you know if I do decide to. You should sign up for the Tokyo Kawaii Life emails! They're actually really helpful
DeleteHey Charlee, they're actually doing a small rerelease of the dress on 4/18 at 19:00 Japan time. If you're interested I would set an alarm or alert for about 1/2 hour to fifteen minutes prior and be ready and refreshing the window! (Also be signed in and have everything set there.) There's only going to be 40 pieces of pink and 60 of blue. More details here: http://ameblo.jp/lizlisa-official/entry-11822511695.html
DeleteI actually signed up for them a few days ago! And oh my goodness, thanks so much for telling me!!! Now to make sure I wake up for it, ha-ha.
DeleteHaha yup. Make sure you have the time difference sorted out correctly and set your alarm! That's what I did :)
DeleteJust an update: I wasn't able to snag one :C I managed to get a blue one in my cart, but when I went to check out, the site wouldn't let me. Thinking my credit card company didn't unblock my card like I requested, I called them quickly and they told me it wasn't on their end, so I guess I was just a few seconds too late. Oh well ^^;
DeleteAwww! That's the worst! I always wondered if something was in your cart, it would be reserved as yours until you deleted it or time ran out, but I guess it's not! I know that when I was checking out when I bought these, I was clicking through everything so fast without really thinking! Good thing my card was already on file.
DeleteI have a feeling it was actually me who got the last one. I had the dress in my cart for like 10 minutes but didn't immediately check out. When I refreshed the listing page it said the dress was already sold out but the one in my cart was still there so it might actually be me who snagged the last piece. Sorry about that~~~ u.u
DeleteHmm it's weird though that she (Charlee) had it in her cart but couldn't get it, because I kind of had a feeling that once you have it in your cart, it IS yours, although I've never been able to confirm so I never wanted to give advice either way. Odd though. You (Kitty) may have in fact gotten the last one, but I'm sure there were other people fighting hard to get it as well!
DeleteOh I have no doubt that there were plenty of people were trying to get their hands on the dress as well so I guess I was just lucky then. About the items in the cart, I have heard/read from some lolitas that when they shop on certain (Japanese) lolita brand webstores, having an item added to the cart does not necessarily mean you will definitely get it, it can be snatched(?) from you. There were instances when the lolitas tried to proceed to checkout, the item/s were no longer in their cart. O_o It seems like whoever pays first, gets the item.
DeleteThat may be the case, but I don't think that what lolita brands do are indicative of what Liz Lisa might since I don't think there's any sort of mandatory national regulation. I'm really leaning towards that if you're logged in and have it in your cart, you can take your time and purchase (before it times out) considering that I think someone mentioned that when they added a "triangle" (only 1 or 2 pieces left) item to their cart in the past, it showed as sold out when they looked back at the listing but hadn't yet checked out. This was for the old site though and may be different for high demand items but who knows?
DeleteHey, I really want to get the dress, but how can I order from Tokyo Kawaii Life? Do they even ship to Europe?
ReplyDeleteTokyo Kawaii Life does not ship outside of Japan. You will need a shopping or forwarding service. I use Tenso as a forwarding service. I have a video tutorial for first time users here - http://emiiichan.blogspot.com/2014/01/how-to-order-from-liz-lisa-online-with.html . It's for the old website, but the procedure is the same and the new website is actually easier to navigate. LMK if you have any other questions. I'm planning on making a new how-to video but need to wait until I place my next order to complete it.
DeleteHi, thank you for your reply :) Sadly my computer was too slow, so I couldn´t get the re-release dress ; v ; Do you have any idea where I could get it now?
ReplyDeleteYou could try and look in the gyaru sales LJ or maybe Yahoo! jp's auctions or mbok. However, I feel like anyone selling it this soon is a scalper. I suppose there's a chance someone ordered it and it doesn't fit them though. Either way, I don't see you paying anything less than at least $100 (USD). I suppose another option is to try and hire someone or a service to call all the Liz Lisa stores, but it's highly likely that it's all sold out there too. Depends how eager you are to get it and what lengths you'd go to to get it.
