Ageha April 2016 and Popteen April 2016

I am so pleased to own both Ageha and Popteen magazines from April 2016. I saw Emiri on the cover of Ageha all over my Twitter feed, and then when I saw Ebony had purchased it, I put it in my cart. I figured, while I was at it, might as well order Popteen as well because I knew there would be a Liz Lisa spring 2016 spread in it due to the promo images released by Liz Lisa. As it turns out, Ebony purchased this magazine as well and after quickly asking her advice, I confidently purchased both.
I don't plan on making this a regular thing and scans really aren't the purpose of this blog, but both of these have such amazing content worth sharing that I think it would be a shame not to. I scanned portions of the magazine to share that I personally found interesting or that I thought would be helpful to others. I don't own a lot of issues of Ageha so I admit I'm not 100% familar with the content, but I was still pleasantly surprised to see a number of looks using Liz Lisa items. As you can guess, they weren't himekaji looks, but the items that were picked still worked well in the spreads without being out of place. Since I can't read a lot of kanji and it takes me so long to sound out katakana, I spend a lot of time looking through Jfashion magazines and trying to identify as many Liz Lisa items as possible without looking at the captions. It's almost like a game lmao. I sometimes try to play with Ank Rouge, Swankiss or One Spo items too. It's just kind of fun to see items you recognize in a magazine.

I definitely consider both of these excellent purchases and worth the international shipping (although it would have been fantastic if it could have been avoided of course). Popteen's target audience is definitely a bit younger than I am but I still like to browse through the issues and pick out what might work for me or just use some coordinates as inspo and adjust pieces to fit my personal style better. And the Liz Lisa spread was the big selling point for me anyway. That being said, as their content has been changing over the years, there are some slightly more "mature" looks as they've been incorporating some larme-kei type coordinates as well and those are interesting to see. On the other hand, Ageha is definitely more on the onee/sexy side and since that was my original gateway into Jfashion years ago, it never tires for me even if I don't purchase a lot of the items or wear them often myself. (This is mostly because I don't have an appropriate place to wear them but not because I don't like the items.) I love the crisp and clear images produced by this magazine and couldn't stop turning the pages. Thanks Ebony for the recommendations!
