Tokyo Kawaii Life order 55 - Liz Lisa fruits ring OP, platform sports sandals, bijou cardigan

This was supposed to be my last online order for summer items (back at the end of June), and I basically made it when I did because I was feeling a shopping itch (plus low stock on the cardigan), but honestly probably should have waited for a couple weeks. That being said, I'm really happy with all of these items and have already made really great use of the sandals, and I'm excited to share a few coordinates with you!

Fruits ring OP in mint (173-6052-0)
フルーツリース柄ワンピース
This dress has an adjustable halter (tie) square cut neckline with two lace up details on the sides of the waist. The print has fruit in circle/ring shapes such as apples, lemons, strawberries, pineapples, grapes and some greens. The dress also comes with a small pair of elastic waistband shorts with the printed fabric at the hem (not pictured).
I really fell in love with this color after seeing it a few times and especially after getting to look at it in person when Amby wore hers. I hadn't ordered it earlier because I was quite nervous about the fit on the chest and the length, but I was able to try on Amby's dress and was instantly sold on not only the design/cut but also the color!

Since I tried it on prior to purchasing, I knew about what to expect although somehow it did seem to fit slightly differently in the chest somehow. I still really like it either way and immediately put it on to go shop for a matching Kate Spade New York purse (pictured above) and found one that I thought was perfect + a pineapple charm to go with the fruit theme! Tbh I'm a little bit too in love with this dress/purse & charm combination. I wore this on my Summer 2017 Japan trip on Day 1 and I don't recall seeing it in any of the stores ♡

Bijou button cardigan in deep pink (173-3020-0)
ビジューボタンカーディガン
This cardigan features a bijou accent top button and full pearl-style buttons down the front. There is a lace upper panel in the back and two small horizontal frill details at the bottom hem.
Once I got the ribbon wedge sandals in pink and realized how bright the color was, I realized I definitely needed a cardigan to properly balance them out! Rebby had purchased this same cardigan, and after getting some insight on the irl color from here, I was definitely sold. I really like that the design is classic and low key but with really nice details like the lace panel in the back and the waist accents.

It's a really nice hot pink color irl but not in an obnoxious way. I think it's the material and the more modest design (not a lot of embellishments that scream "look at me") that help tone down the overall color. I will certainly enjoy using it to help boost a tertiary pink color in an outfit or balance my loud pair of ribbon sandals.

Platform sports sandals in pink (171-9608-0)
厚底スポサン
These chunky platform wedge sandals feature adjustable velcro for the front and ankle straps with lace trim. The straps feature tropical vacation embroidery and the wedge heel also has a scattering of tiny ribbons embroidered on it as well.
I really didn't think this shoe was attractive at all at first, but knew in the back of my mind that they would eventually grow on me after seeing them enough and anticipated grabbing them later in the season. Of course, that proved to be true. It's not the cutest design ever, but I really like the neutral color of the pink version of these sandals and knew that, if anything, at least they would be comfortable.

Honestly, they aren't as terrible as I projected them to be and I actually think they're a nice touch to some outfits that can deal with a super slight sporty/casual vibe. I knew that if I was going to end up buying these, at the very least I would take them with me on my trip. And I did! I wore them on the plane both ways and on Day 1, 3, 4 and 6. (Note Day 2 was hiking so I pretty much wore them at every given opportunity except Day 5.) They were super comfortable and I really enjoyed wearing them.

Coordinating all 3 of these items was actually a lot more fun that I thought it would be, likely because there's a slight challenge associated with it. None of these three items were entirely in my comfort zone for one reason or another (ex. color or style genre) but ofc are still somewhat easily incorporated among other Liz Lisa items which is something I always enjoy.

As is the case for many of my blog posts, I had taken the photos and written half of the commentary over a month ago, but am only getting to publishing now due to prioritization of my Japan trip Summer 2017 series. While my level of satisfaction with these items hasn't exactly waned, it does feel like my overall sense of contentment with clothes in general is slowly sliding downhill. This could certainly (and likely will) change as time goes on, but it does make the writing part of blogging a bit more challenging in the interim. The reasons I originally purchased an item seem incredibly frivolous and thoughtless in retrospect, and I'm finding it hard to stay inspired to maintain any level of positivity towards it and find the right words to say. I do still have several other posts drafted and waiting to be published just due to a backlog, but I may be downshifting my emphasis towards this blog in general as my interests refocus. I never wanted what I post to make it seem like my lifestyle was one of ease or a "normal" situation and it's not something I condone for other people. If I seem less enthusiastic than I usually do, please keep this in mind. All the people who dislike how much I write in these posts are probably going to enjoy the minimal text which I personally find incomplete and lacking, but hey, if there's not much to say, there's not much to say.
