EATME cut out OP - Spring 2022

This was a pre-order item for spring 2022 that I hesitated for only a day or so before purchasing. This is another solo item blog post, but hopefully it won't be too boring, even though OPs can really only be styled a few different ways 😬

Now that I can actually reasonably wear long sleeve items, there's so much more shopping to do! I'm still trying to get the hang of dressing for colder weather for longer than 7 days and being casual sometimes, but this instantly caught my eye. I love the wide collar and then small cut out as well as the buckle details. I decided to go with grey instead of black because the cut out was slightly less obvious and I thought the details stood out a little better in this color.

The ribbon tie in the back was another thing that sold me on this dress. It's always been important to me to have a good fit and being able to tie it myself always really helps (especially when it's at the right part of the waist), but this dress actually fits really great even without it so it just adds a cute girly touch. The cut out has the potential to be a little weird but I honestly love it and the little side belt details at the waist. It does interfere with any kind of belt but because the fit is excellent, that doesn't bother me at all. I did mostly match it with black here but one of my favorite looks is actually with the fukubukuro coat :)

EATME faux leather ring zip shorts

This is a solo purchase because I snagged these shorts during a short "guerilla sale" for half price. And to think that just a handful of hours earlier, I was considering purchasing them at full price *whew*. Sometimes patience pays off (although admittedly, sometimes "patience" means I miss an item entirely too haha).

I was convinced about these shorts based on the shop staff photos. And then while I was doing my coordinate photos for the first three blog posts of the year, I realized I was missing a pair of (very) high waisted black shorts in my wardrobe. I have lots of skirts and I also now have a decent selection of blue denim but no good black shorts/pants!

I feel like because of how the artificial light reflects off of the faux leather, these shorts can be a bit unflattering in some of the photos, but overall I'm quite pleased! The waist isn't too tight (which was something I was mildly worried about) but also isn't so loose that I would have to wear a belt to keep it in place. The only thing that I found a bit odd was the flare on the inside of the legs of the shorts. It's not that noticeable when worn but sits a bit awkwardly when laid flat. I'm super glad I was able to grab these during a sale. Faux leather doesn't last forever (especially when it has to crease so much when sitting) but for the sale price, I think these will definitely be worthwhile during their lifespan.
