Tokyo Kawaii Life order 29 - Liz Lisa floral wedge pumps in camel

A quick post about a one item Liz Lisa order :) These took forever to arrive! Shipped from Tenso on 12/24 and didn't arrive until 1/9. This is likely partially due to the holiday season and idk...what else lol. Mid-December to mid-January are not good times to ship, especially with SAL since that makes it pretty low priority lol. But it was worth it to me to pay the lower price because I wasn't especially in a rush to get it anyway but I was getting antsy about them getting lost.

I already own these in ivory (purchased from Hep Five during Japan trip Summer 2015), but I couldn't resist getting another pair after seeing the sale price. Shoes are a pain to ship internationally because of the weight, and I knew that with the shoe box, it would weight about 1kg. However, I had a 500yen coupon from Tenso that would expire soon and nothing else in particular that I wanted to spend money on, so sale shoes it is!  I picked "camel"/brown because I don't have another pair of Liz Lisa pumps in this color. The closest ones are from Autumn 2012 but they're a bit lighter in tone and a different shape. Since they're on sale, I figured that I might as well go with a color that's not something I would usually buy but would still help enhance my wardrobe.

I almost got a matching purse (either to match with the ivory pumps or the camel ones), since the sale price for that was quite good too, but I haven't had the best luck shipping bags internationally in the past, so I decided to pass.

Sorry it seems like I had some weird lighting issues there in the middle. I insisted on shooting these photos even when the sun went behind a cloud for a bit, and it turned out that it was darker than I thought it would be wtf. I tried to lighten the photo and ended up with an unintentional, slightly weird sepia effect somehow. The shoes fit reasonably well. I don't personally notice them being particularly big or small compared to other Liz Lisa shoes and the two straps help keep my foot firmly in place.

Although I'm only showing 4 options here, there are a decent amount of things in my wardrobe that can easily match with these pumps, and I'm really happy to have them. Sometimes you want to have the variety that a darker (but still on the neutral scheme) shoe gives. I actually particularly like this last coordinate with the riders jacket and also quite like the Cinderella set up coordinate as well. I think that these could easily also be paired with a lighter shoe, but the brown gives it a slightly more classic look imo. The shoes can also easily work between seasons particularly thanks to the "cork" wedge bottoms. Tbh I'm not sure why these haven't been selling any better considering the sale price it's been running at for over a month now! Maybe there were other shoes this season that were a bit more exciting, but the classic pump look is paired well with girly addition of the removable flowers and lace details, and this is definitely a great basic in any of the colors it was offered in!

For some reason, the consolidation process for this package was fast but actually shipping the items took a few days. I shipped with SAL right before the holiday season and that seemed to take forever compared to the week that I'm used to for SAL. But I wasn't in any particular rush to get this package, so I didn't really mind. These blog posts are still all backed up because I prioritized the trip posts so heavily, but hopefully I'll be reasonably back on track soon and not a month backlogged for these shopping posts. I suppose they're not really time sensitive though - especially the secondhand ones because there's pretty much just the one listing for each item and I got it lol. In any case, I won the auction for these items on 11/4 (poncho) and 12/3 (OP) and I received the package in the mail on 12/22.

Liz Lisa x My Melody collab vol 2 in pink; Condition: Used

This was the colorway I originally wanted but I bought the white in an earlier auction because I just wanted to jump at the chance to get it. I had never tried it on before or seen it in person, but after receiving the white one, I knew I would also like it in pink. I wasn't planning on getting it, but the bid was pretty low so I just took a chance with less than an hour left and no one else outbid me lol. Good timing, I guess. I still can't believe that I could have had this new when it was first listed years ago and hesitated too much and missed my chance -__-. But regardless, now, a couple years later I have it in both pink and white (albeit secondhand and used), but still in reasonable condition and I'm not unhappy with the price I ended up paying for them.

The pink dress is exactly like the white except the color of course. I enjoy the fit and the length and can easily see why this was a popular item at the time and continues to be now even though it doesn't have any print or specific My Melody branding on it.

Liz Lisa novelty poncho; Condition: New

I had really, really wanted this when I had seen it first promoted during the summer of 2014. Since I was purchasing a Liz Lisa swimsuit for the first time that same season, I thought this novelty item would be the perfect accompaniment to the bikini set and the towel and would be quite useful. I've looked for it many times on the auction sites and from secondhand sellers but I could never find it for a price I was comfortable paying in new condition until this listing. Luckily I didn't have to deal with a bidding war to get it, maybe because it's a bit off season lol.

The swimsuit I bought from 2014 doesn't exactly match the towel print (which matched with a different bikini set also from that season) but it's close enough for me lol. The poncho itself actually a bit wider than I expected it to be but also shorter? Well I think my expectations are just off and not the poncho itself. Regardless, it's quite cute imo and another great novelty offering by Liz Lisa. I would have been so happy to get this free with purchase lol. I don't know how much I will actually use it since I already have four Liz Lisa towels that don't get regular use, but maybe this will be my excuse to tag along with S when he goes fishing. (Although it's not like he doesn't let me go with him. I'm the one who usually resists haha.)

I'm quite happy with both of these items. This was a small set of items (just 2!) but the poncho towel was already sitting for so long before I won the auction for the pink Liz Lisa x My Melody collab OP, so I just wanted to get the shipping over with. Since there wasn't a lot else that I was interested in purchasing at the time, once there was another item to consolidate, I just cut myself off lol. I've really come to realize that I want to scale down my secondhand purchases anyway. Even though the auction item price might be low, everything else with the service fees and domestic and international shipping really add up and are often unpredictable which I'm not the hugest fan of. I think I allowed myself a little more leeway with these items because autumn/winter tend to be slow purchasing times for me for Liz Lisa items due to the season and type of items being sold, but it's already picking back up and I can't wait for spring!
