I was extremely determined to get swimwear from Liz Lisa this summer! I missed out last year because I was convinced that the prices would drop, but instead the listings just disappeared lol. Luckily, I liked the designs this year as well, so nbd lol.
There were three different swimsuit designs available for summer 2014, but I decided that I liked the Gingham floral swimsuit set best in pink! (141-9916-0) (I waited so long to do this post that I think the link no longer works, sorry!)
I also liked it in blue, but pink was my first choice. I already had the pink floral gingham towel anyway, so it made the most sense to get this one. The set is a little expensive at retail price (around $170), but it does come with a bikini top and bottom + a matching OP in the same material. I was lucky enough to snatch it at around 30% off during a 20% off sale and using a coupon that gave me an additional 20% off.
As it turns out, everything fits pretty well imo! The OP is not too too short where my butt is peeking out (too much), and the bikini itself fits about as well as I could ask for for something that only comes in one size lol.
This post is so late wtf, but I really wanted to get some pictures of the set being worn in a real setting. The problem is that I don't go to the beach much lol. The other problem is that when I'm outside, I actually need someone else to shoot the pictures for me, (I usually just use a remote to take my blog pictures myself,) and S kind of sucks at taking decent pictures of me/I just suck at having flattering photos taken of me by someone else lol. Also, during the times we're at the beach (and because of which beaches we're going to) the sun has never been at an ideal angle for photos wtf. There was a lot working against this blog post lol.
This is the first "girly" bikini I've ever owned lol. Most of my other swimwear is just the typical casual stuff and nothing super cutesy. I don't get too excited about going to the beach (and getting a sunburn), so I never really cared about what my swimwear looked like. But since I live in Hawaii, I told myself that if I have the opportunity to appropriately wear Liz Lisa to the beach, I should get it. Well worth it, I think, and maybe now I will let S drag me fishing more often if it means I get to wear it :)
It's been like 5 months since I started drafting this blog post, and despite numerous tries, I could not get satisfactory pictures of me at the beach in the swimsuit set (besides the 4 above), so I decided to just shoot how I usually do - in my room. It looks really out of place, but at least I'm getting pictures I at least semi-approve of/would actually consider posting, and I really did want to share full body photos of how the set looks worn on a "real person" (not just the stock photo model) so please pardon the fact that I'm wearing a swimsuit in my room lol. I was going to a pool party after though so it wasn't totally random?? If I can get photos in a better location later, I will substitute them in lol.
The OP worn over the bikini set -
with my matching gingham floral towel -
without the OP -
with my go-to beach bag (Liz Lisa S/S 2013 happy pack bag)
(Sorry that I'm unrealistically wearing heels and a wig in all these photos, but I just feel like my legs look 5x better with them on, and also my hair was pretty limp that day.)
I have to say, I am really, really pleased with this swimsuit set. It was worth every cent. It fits as well as I could hope for, and I love the print and the style. I also love that it comes with a full OP cover up which happens to be a great length for me (in my opinion lol). I'm also glad that I was able to snag the towel which somehow makes the set 10x better haha. And wearing this makes going to the beach like 100x more appealing lol. I'm definitely considering purchasing another next year.
As a small reminder (and I'm sure those of you who
actually read my posts are tired of reading these blurbs, but I am
constantly getting blamed for not warning people of this, so here I go again)
- I am extremely uncomfortable with my personal photos being used for
the profit of others especially without a simple source link. In
general, I would prefer for my photos not to be reposted without my
permission at all, but if you feel the extreme need to do so, I simply
ask that you just include a simple link back to my original post.
Regardless of whether I watermark every single photo, I do still own the
copyright to these pictures and you finding them on Google Image does
not mean I do not own them anymore?? (There has been some confusion on
that front apparently. And to be clear, Google does even warn you when
you click on a photo that the image may be subject to copyright, and
Google does not sever the photos from their original pages, so it's easy
to find their source if you choose.) I
do not blog and post these photos so that others can sell their
products that are not associated with me in the slightest. And the
response I get when I just ask for my photos to be sourced really
discourages me from sharing and continuing to blog. I mean this
in the least aggressive way possible, but I'm not just going to throw 80
smiley emojis in this to "soften the tone" because I am serious,
and I honestly feel like you should be able to read a paragraph like
this without emoticons and not be offended by its message.
Cute & sexy post! *___*
ReplyDeleteI really loved the LL swimsuit and wanted to buy but I don't go to the beach or use my pool so it'll be a waste. I'm glad to see you bought it! It looks great on you! Perfect summer coordinate! >u<3 Sachiko
http://taskin-illusion.blogspot.com
Haha not intentionally sexy!! XD Hopefully I'll be able to wear it all year round lol.
DeleteAwww, the set looks great on you Emiii <3 I'm really glad I got mine too :P
ReplyDeleteI hope they come out with more next year as well - not that I really need it but it does look, feel and fit nice IMO.
I'm sooo glad you also got one! Yes let's also get some next year as well haha :D
DeleteI may get one next year too cuz my friends ALWAYS pester me to go to the beach with them but I never do. Hopefully next year's swimsuit set will be just as cute as this one!
ReplyDeleteLikely! They're so worth it. I love love love mine.
Deleteit's soooo cute! so you ended up getting 50% off then!? Such a deal!
ReplyDeletePS. I admire your figure. in the most non-creepy way ever. (y)
SnowRii
It was actually 20% off 20% off which is basically 30% off. The set did end up going on sale for 50% off later but the pink was already sold out and the blue only had 2 remaining (and I missed it) so I'm glad I purchased at 30% off and still feel like I got a deal because at least I got it! Lol.
Delete&& thank you :) Not creepy at all haha.
Very nice set!! I wish i could wear it but i need to tone up first!! : ) Been snacking a bit too much lately! : )
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the Liz Liza 2015 Fukubukuro!! I will be getting up early and waiting outside the LL store!!!
Haha I understand. I'm totally a snacker too, especially since I have a desk job and candy readily available all the time :|
DeleteYou're going to be in Japan (or are in Japan?) for fukubukuro? How exciting! I'm going to try to do a recap (reveals from real people) post similar to the one I did for 2014 and I would love it if you would consider sharing the contents (and possibly the process?) somewhere so I could link to your post! I don't have any personal experience with in store purchasing so I would definitely be interested to know how it went for you!
hello Emmii, I am in Hong Kong at the moment and there are about 4 Liz Lisa stores here!! One which is just 20 minutes away by bus!! Yeah i will share the contents with you! I need to update and use my blog as i have been very very lazy and not uploaded anything in a long time! I started it in the hope of posting Liz Lisa hauls!! I will let you know once i have done it!!
DeleteI have a month to do it!! ok have a nice day!!
Hope you enjoy your time in Hong Kong!
DeleteThat set is so adorable!!! *w*
ReplyDeleteI need to work harder to get a bikini bodyXDXDXD
I'm sure you (both) look stellar now! There's plenty of time before next year's releases though :D
Deletehehe, too bad we have a bit of a stomach we would like to loose before trying on a bikini :p but yeah, we still have some time*^^*
DeleteLovely!!!! You look perfect with it~ I wish I could buy it, I'm really needing swimsuits but it's expensive for me :( and I don't know how to buy it :/
ReplyDeleteThank you! Liz Lisa doesn't have any swimsuits for sale now (since it's like the middle of winter) but I have a tutorial for how to buy from their online shop here [http://emiiichan.blogspot.com/2014/04/how-to-order-from-liz-lisa-and-tokyo.html] :) I think quality swimsuits are worth the money - you don't want to be cheap when something might deteriorate/fall apart on the beach and you'd be left practically naked :O
DeleteI like it so much, I must get one too for this coming summer. Thanks for sharing, cute pose and your so sexy.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteDo you think this would fit bustier girls? I dont know bras in US sizes but Im pretty big... and I dont know if I should get one of the ones in the store incase it didnt fit. Ive bought 2 bikini sets from 109 in the past and they are both a little on the... small side :(
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit hard for me to say because I'm definitely not on the busty side. I think maybe if you're just a bit bigger than me, it would still be okay but much more might be pushing it? But it really depends. I definitely don't feel comfortable making a recommendation without more specific information, sorry :(
DeleteI wanted to thank you for this great read!! I definitely enjoying every little bit of it.I have you bookmarked to check out new stuff you post.

ReplyDeleteand here I have found the awesome information. Thanks for sharing.
Hmm it appears like your site ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any tips for novice blog writers? I'd really appreciate it.
